Anguilla is one of the twelve Deadlords, and appears in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War and Fire Emblem Awakening.

In Genealogy of the Holy War, little is mentioned about the Deadlords, but they are all fought in the Final Chapter near Belhalla and eventually defeated, including Anguilla.

Anguilla is not fought in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776.

As Anguilla has the Wrath skill, it is thus highly recommended to battle her with a character possessing Awareness. Such characters include Seliph, Scáthach, Larcei, or Julia. However, as Anguilla primarily uses Thunder Magic, she is thus encumbered by the weight of her tome. As a result, she is not very difficult to defeat, as compared to other Deadlords such as Ovis.

Etymology[]

The Deadlords' names are Latin words for the animals of the Chinese zodiac. The zodiac's sixth sign is the snake, which in Latin is anguis. Anguilla means "eel" or "little snake."

Sechs, Anguilla's Japanese name, is the German word for the number 6.

Trivia[]

  • There is fandom speculation on whether the Anguilla fought in Genealogy of the Holy War is or not a forcibly revived Tailtiu (or her younger sister Ethnia, if Tailtiu wasn't paired up). The main arguments behind this are how Tailtiu can be promoted into Anguilla's Mage Fighter class, plus Anguilla having minor Thrud blood and carrying a Thoron tome like Tailtiu did when recruited, as well as possessing Tailitiu's signature Wrath skill. However, there is no dialogue between Anguilla and Tailtiu/Ethnia's children Arthur/Amid and Tine/Linda, while Anguilla naturally possesses the Pursuit skill, something that Tailtiu will never have unless equipping a Pursuit Ring (and Anguilla is not carrying one). Therefore it's far more likely that she's a minor member/distant relative of the Friege clan who died in either of the wars and then was made into Anguilla.
  • In Fire Emblem Awakening, Anguilla is the only enemy fought in the story who uses the female Dark Knight portrait; all other generic Dark Knights in the game are male. She shares this quality with Simia.
