An Archsage, is a master of all forms of magic. Although the class is exclusive to Athos in Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken, it is also the title of other great magicians such as Gotoh or Morse.

In Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Fire Sages, Thunder Sages and Wind Sages can all promote to Archsages, and, as a result, Anima- based Archsages can wield all three types of Anima magic with formidable skill, along with staves. Athos in Rekka no Ken can use Staves, Anima, Light, and Dark Magic. Pelleas in Radiant Dawn can use Staves, Thunder, and Dark Magic.

In Radiant Dawn the Archsage's occult skill is Flare, which nullifies resistance and heals health equal to damage done.
