Izuka casting Balberith on Astrid. | ||||||||

Balberith (バルベリト Baruberito) is the most potent Dark Magic tome in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Wielded by Izuka, this tome appears to be his personal spell. When cast, the background of the immediate surroundings will be mired by a cloak of darkness, whereupon a byzantium magic circle will materialize around the selected enemy target. This magic circle will essentially tear a temporal rift into the underworld, causing demonic winds to assail from its depths to crush the target.

Etymology
Edit
Baal-berith (also called Baalberith) is the combination of the names of two pagan Canaanite gods, Ba'al and Berith. Baal-berith is also perceived to be a Christian demon, where he is said to tempt men into commiting blasphemy and murder. In Hebrew, "Balberith" literally means "Lord of Devotion".
