The Black Dragon class is one of the three species of dragon laguz. It is the transformed form of the Dragon Prince and Dragon King classes. The Black Dragon class was not playable in Path of Radiance.

Black Dragons are Dragon Laguz who are descendants of the royal Goldoa family. Goldoa being the country within which most Dragon Laguz reside. Only four Black Dragons are mentioned in the series, Dheginsea and Kurthnaga are the only two seen in combat. The only Black Dragon Laguz a player can control is Kurthnaga, the prince of Goldoa.

The Black Dragons are considered the most powerful species of Dragon Laguz. Goldoan black dragons are feared far and wide for their immense strength, sending even King Tibarn of Phoenicis into hiding when faced with only one. Black dragons attack with breath of black flame, and excel in all statistics. The skill they gain from the Satori Sign is Ire, which does triple damage, much like a critical hit. Unlike other Dragon Laguz, Black Dragons are capable of flying while transformed.
