“What's this? You've made it this far? Ah, I paid too much for that worthless pack of sellswords!”
—Boies' battle quote
Boies is a member of the Black Fang and appears in Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken, appearing as a subordinate of Ephidel while his superior was occupying Santaruz castle. After Ephidel kills the Marquess of Santaruz, Helman, Boies is left to guard the Castle and cover Ephidel's retreat, and is therefore the boss of In Search of Truth. He is unique among bosses because he tries to sneak up on your party at the beginning of the chapter in a cutscene, then retreats to guard the castle while challenging Hector to make it there alive.
Normal Modes and Eliwood Hard ModeEdit
Lance - D
Hector Hard ModeEdit
Lance - D
As a heavily armored, lance-wielding Knight, Boies seems tailor-made to showcase the power of Hector's Wolf Beil. While Boies will generally be able to two-hit-KO Hector, Boies lacks any way to attack from a distance. As such, the player can use Serra to effortlessly heal Hector, sealing Boies' fate.
Alternatively, Marcus can defeat Boies with little trouble, preferably using an inexpensive Iron Axe, although your other units will likely need the experience much more.
- Vs. Eliwood
Boies: "You've done well to come this far, laddie!"
Eliwood: "Where is Marquess Santaruz?"
Boies: "I imagine he's on his way to a better place. Gehah! Geh heh hehhh!"
Eliwood: "Wretched cur!"
- Vs. Hector
Hector: "Come on out! We're here!"
Boies: "Well, well, well! You survived, I see. You'll find that I'm a bit tougher than those fools you faced before!"
Hector: "What have you done with Marquess Santaruz?"
Boies: "You want to know? You'll have to best me first!"
“You've beaten me...but you're too late to save him. Too...too bad, eh laddie? Geha ha...geha!”
