“What's this? You've made it this far? Ah, I paid too much for that worthless pack of sellswords!”
—Boies' battle quote

Boies is a member of the Black Fang and appears in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, appearing as a subordinate of Ephidel while his superior was occupying Santaruz castle. After Ephidel kills the Marquess of Santaruz, Helman, Boies is left to guard the Castle and cover Ephidel's retreat, and is therefore the boss of In Search of Truth. He is unique among bosses because he tries to sneak up on your party at the beginning of the chapter in a cutscene, then retreats to guard the castle while challenging Hector to make it there alive.

Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

As a heavily armored, lance-wielding Knight, Boies seems tailor-made to showcase the power of Hector's Wolf Beil. While Boies will generally be able to two-hit-KO Hector, Boies lacks any way to attack from a distance. As such, the player can use Serra to effortlessly heal Hector, sealing Boies' fate.

Alternatively, Marcus can defeat Boies with little trouble, preferably using an inexpensive Iron Axe, although your other units will likely need the experience much more.
