—Dagdar in Thracia 776
Dagdar (ダグダ Daguda lit. Dagda) is a playable character in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. He is a reformed bandit, the leader of the Mount Violdrake Bandits, who went straight due to Eyvel's influence. He later went on to help found the Fiana Freeblades, a small band of outlaw do-gooders, mostly concerned with helping the knight Finn and the mysterious swordmaster Eyvel protect the exiled young Prince Leif. He is the father of the tomboyish archer Tanya who also works for the Fiana Freeblades, he also serves as the father-figure to Marty a dumb but good-natured ex-bandit. If Chapter 8x is skipped, Dagdar will become the Deadlord Tigris. Due to Marty's ending title, it is speculated that Dagdar may have fatherly or even romantic feelings toward the young brigand.
He is considered to be in the Jagen Archetype meaning that he starts out great but has below abnormally low growth rates. However various factors make Dagdar efficient throughout the game.

Overall
During the first chapters of the game, Dagdar is practically invincible thanks to his high stats. However, he fits the Jagen archetype, meaning that he has very low growths. In order to prepare for his return in Chapter 8x, it is recommended to end Chapter 3 with Dagdar possessing at least an iron axe and a vulnerary, since he and his daughter Tanya are forced to fight several enemies alone for several turns due to being separated from the rest of your army at the chapter's start.
Despite low growths, Dagdar's base stats are quite good. His high HP and defense means Dagdar can be used liberally should you need his assistance. His high strength as well as decent speed provide him with a great deal of offense power, although the latter is not enough to double enemies eventually if he has grown especially poorly unboosted. Dagdar also has a base movement of 7, which make him a solid pick for indoor and outdoor maps. Charge is useful for capturing and killing alike, which is further helped by his 15 build. It should be noted that Charge can be a double-edged sword when facing against ballistas and long-range magic like bolting. Dagdar can wield any axe that is not character exclusive due to his A axe rank, and is able to do so indoors. Dagdar's access to 2 range in form of bows are pretty useful thanks to the game's lack of 1-2 range weapons, despite only starting out with an E bow rank.
Use of the Sety Scroll (which increases his speed growth by 30%) or speed and skill rings is recommended if he is to be used in the latter parts of the game since his growths are low and without such, he will often miss and not be able to double many of the enemies that will be faced. Still as powerful as Dagdar is, overusing him can negatively affect your team as he may take EXP needed by your other characters, as is typical of the Jagen archetype do when overused.
Overall, Dagdar is an excellent character early on and can keep up with your team throughout of the game thanks to his good base stats alone, but his stat growths without help will hurt him in the long run. As such, it is recommended Dagdar be given scrolls to improve his growths.
