The Darksphere (also called the Dark Orb) is a special item that appears in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem. It was one of five orbs possessed by the Divine Dragon clan and used to complete the Shield of Seals. By itself, it possesses the power to control minds, such as by controlling the enemy to stop them from fighting the user. However, it magnifies human emotions, especially negative ones, making it beyond dangerous for humans to use. Gharnef also created the Imhullu spell, which twisted his very existence, from the Darksphere. After his first defeat, he smuggles the Darksphere to Hardin, which corrupted him and brought forth the events of book 2.
