The Dread Scroll (魔戦士の巻物 Ma senshi no makimono, lit. Demon Fighter Scroll) is a promotional item that appears in Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates.

In Awakening, the Dread Scroll can be acquired through every completion of the DLC chapter Xenologue 5, and will transform any male character Level 10 and above into a Dread Fighter when used. Xenologue 5 may be completed as many times as one desires in order to obtain multiple copies of the Dread Scroll. Using the Dread Scroll does not permanently unlock the Dread Fighter class for a unit. If re-classed out of the Dread Fighter class, another Dread Scroll is required to re-class into it again.

In Fates, the Dread Scroll can be acquired upon purchasing two routes in the game. Players can receive two Dread Scrolls per file when checking the Link Bonus. It can also be acquired by completing the Royal Royale DLC Chapter with Sakura, Takumi, Hinoka, or Ryoma. Unlike Awakening, any character, regardless of level or gender, can use the scroll. Using the Dread Scroll item in Fates permanently unlocks the Dread Fighter class, only requiring a Heart Seal should a unit wish to reclass back to it.
