—Eibel to a soldier in the Mystery of the Emblem
Eibel is a boss character in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem and Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem. He is a General in the Archanean Army serving under Hardin.
Profile[]
Eibel sent the Gra forces to bring the Altea remnants out of hiding in order to slaughter them all. He had also taken the Pegasus Knight, Est, prisoner, and forced Abel to fight for him by threatening to execute her. Should Abel ever refuse, his threats are initiated. Unfortunate for Eibel, Marth arrives and rescues Est, and manages to convince Abel to rejoin the Altean army. The ensuring battle follows with Eibel being slain by Altean army.
Personality[]
Owing to the minor role Eibel plays in the larger plot, his personality is fairly undeveloped. Several points can still be gleaned based on the few interactions he's given nonetheless. For one, Eibel has been portrayed as a cruel individual who initiates cheap measures to seize his opportunities. Much is shown when taking Est as hostage and using her as a bargain chip to blackmail Abel into crossing blades with his own prince or she'll be executed should he refuse; a scene he gazes forward to for amusement. Eibel also holds a strong sense of pride in believing his army wouldn't be beaten. The fact is disproven when taken by surprise in combat where he yells, and questions his opponent's capabilities being something of inhuman nature.

Eibel is pretty easy to deal with on Normal Mode. The best option to deal with him is sending a unit with high defense to get him to attack using his Silver Bow. Allowing players to render him helpless in close combat. Alternatively, players can just use any mage unit to finish him off because of his low resistance. In Lunatic mode, he's pretty menacing due to carrying a Spear, an enemy-exclusive weapon. If he ever gets the chance to wield it, he'll be able to attack regardless of range.

Trivia[]
- He resembles Kannival in the original version except with blue hair. He has a green battle color scheme in that game.
- As scripted with Eibel's dialog, the generic general keeping watch over Est in her cell will leave her alone until Abel is recruited by Marth. He will target her if conditions were met (and if Est has still not been rescued yet).
