Eve (イーヴ Īvu) is a non-playable character from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. He is a knight of Nordion, and is the brother of Eva and Alva. Alongside his brothers, Eve works to protect Princess Raquesis from Elliot, who attempts to invade Nordion after Eldigan has been imprisoned by Chagall.

EtymologyEdit

Eve is a feminine name, taken from Eve, the wife of Adam in the story of the Garden of Eden. Legend has it that Eve was made out of one of Adam's ribs, in order to be his companion. As Adam is appointed to guard the garden, both him and Eve stayed there for a while, not eating the fruit from the center tree as instructed. Eve is then tricked by a walking snake into eating the fruit, who convinced Adam to partake a bite as well. This led to their punishment by God, where he punishes not just Adam and Eve, but the snake as well. After that, Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden, where Eve later gave birth to Cain, Abel, and later Seth. According to legend, it was Eve who was tricked by the snake into eating the fruit, and not Adam. This is thus one of the main factors for religions, such as that Judaism, to be patriarchal in nature.
