—Farden's Battle Quote
Farden is a boss character encountered in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. Oddly, he serves virtually the same role that Ridale served in Geneology of the Holy War, being a elite Paladin given the task of hunting down escaping civilians, regardless of whatever moral convictions he might hold against it. They even possess virtually identical palettes.

Overview
In terms of raw combat power, Farden is nothing new. He does have two weapons that seem to be worth taking, but both are almost immediately rendered obsolete. A Flame Sword is in Galzus's starting inventory, and only Dalsin and Xavier would ever be able to wield the Master Lance in the following indoor chapters. The player may freely dispose of him using either his or her strongest units, or by triggering Sety's arrival on the map, which can easily be done by moving Cyas one tile down from his starting position, and then using the Rescue staff on him.
Farden could potentially prove to be a threat to the multiple civilian units on the map, but the player receives no benefit from rescuing them aside from purely emotional ones.
