Ike is the central character of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and one of the main characters in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. He is the son of Greil and Elena, as well as the older brother of Mist. He is also the fearless leader of the Greil Mercenaries and the first main character who is not of noble birth.

Profile[]

Path of Radiance[]

Ike assumes leadership of the Greil Mercenaries after his father is killed by the Black Knight. For most of the game, he is in the service of Princess Elincia, serving as her personal bodyguard.

Ike is introduced as the newest member of the Greil Mercenaries in Path of Radiance. A number of the other members, including the likes of Boyd (who considers Ike a rival and enjoys poking fun at him) and Shinon (who is genuinely antagonistic), look down on him as a rookie, constantly mocking his inexperience and flouting their skills. As news of Daein's invasion eventually reaches Greil's ears, Ike is pushed into working twice as hard in order to ensure that he is well prepared to take over the reins of the company.

Following Greil's death, Ike takes over the leadership of the Greil Mercenaries, much to the disbelief of Gatrie and Shinon. The pair then proceed to leave the Greil Mercenaries, as their immense pride restricts them from serving under an individual whom they consider to be inferior to them.

After remaining in Gallia until Chapter 9, Ike comes to the realization that Caineghis is unable to help him. He then leaves the country, and is escorted to Port Toha by a squad of Laguz, comprising of Ranulf, Lethe and Mordecai. With the assistance of his growing band of mercenaries, Ike travels around the continent of Tellius, helping Elincia reclaim her home kingdom of Crimea. To this end, he eventually gains the support of Empress Sanaki of Begnion in overthrowing Daein, becoming the leader of the newly formed Crimean Liberation Army.

As the war nears its conclusion, Ike reveals the Divine Blade Ragnell, admitting that he has been keeping it ever since the night Greil was slain. With the blade in hand, Ike challenges the Black Knight to a duel in a tower of Nados Castle with the assistance of Mist. This battle concludes with the tower being destroyed and the Black Knight declared dead.

Ike eventually succeeds in defeating Mad King Ashnard of Daein, reclaiming Crimea from Daein's grasp, and allowing Elincia to rise to the Crimean throne, becoming known as the “Patriotic Hero.”

Radiant Dawn[]

In the aftermath of the war, the new Queen Elincia granted Ike a court title and land in recognition of his distinguished service. However, he disliked being caught up in the politics and in-fighting between the other nobles and renounced his title to return to a life of simplicity with the other mercenaries. Soon after this, he was contacted by Bastian, the Count of Fayre, about rumors of a rebellion against Queen Elincia. Bastian had told him that in preparation to counter this with an ambush, Ike and his crew would have to seemingly abandon their homeland of Crimea and go into hiding. Soon after, he leads the Greil Mercenaries into interrupting Lucia's execution.

Upon returning to the headquarters of the mercenaries, Ike is visited by Ranulf, who provides news of an oncoming war being waged by the newly formed Laguz Alliance and Begnion. It is then revealed that the flames of ire among the alliance sparked as a result of the countries involved learning of Begnion ordering the extermination of the Herons in the distant past. Despite being reluctant to join the conflict at first, Ike eventually agrees to lend his mercenaries' military expertise to the alliance.

The conflict between the alliance and Begnion eventually escalates to a breaking point, whereupon Ashera is interrupted from her thousand-year slumber. She then passes her judgment upon the continent of Tellius, turning practically everyone, save for the strongest warriors in both armies, to stone. The Goddess of Chaos, Yune, then breaks free of her shackles within Lehran's Medallion, and possesses Micaiah as a means to communicate with others, apart from Micaiah herself. This essentially leads to Ike forming a truce with Micaiah's forces, as they traverse toward the Tower of Guidance.

While progressing through the levels of the Tower of Guidance, Ike encounters the Black Knight, and finally avenges his father's death by defeating him in a true one-on-one duel. At his opponent lies dying, Ike shows a deep sense of gratitude, admitting that while Zelgius was his enemy and father’s killer, he was also a teacher of sorts who guided him. He recognized that his skill with a blade was rugged and unpolished right after he lost his father, and it was only through his countless clashes with the Black Knight that he was able to polish his skills and the secret art of “Aether.” Upon the Black Knight's passing, Ike takes possession of Alondite, the sister sword of Ragnell.

On the player's second playthrough onward, the game will reveal that Ike bore witness to Greil's accidental murder of Elena. In a bid to eliminate the immense trauma that Ike was forced to face as a result, Sephiran sealed his memories of the scene. All of Ike’s memories surrounding that event –including when he met Soren –were buried deep down as a result. After regaining his memories, Ike comes to finally understand just why Soren had trusted him so much and remained by his side through thick and thin.

After countless fierce battles, Yune blessed Ike with her divine power –which is where he truly ascends to become The Radiant Hero. When it was all over, he disappeared, leaving the continent of Tellius without a trace and becoming a legend, being known throughout the world as both a great warrior and a great man.

Awakening[]

In Fire Emblem Awakening, Ike makes an appearance as a DLC character, and is illustrated by Eiji Kaneda, the artist of Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade.

Ike himself does not appear in the main story of this game, but a character named Priam claims to be the descendant of the "Radiant Hero", and possesses Ragnell. When Robin questions the identity of the "Radiant Hero", Chrom will reply that this title belonged to a legendary hero who traveled from another world.

In the DLC map "Rogues and Redeemers 3", Ike is among the many warriors that fights for Eldigan. After completing the stage, Ike is impressed by Robin's skills and tactics, and approves of the bonds between [their] comrades. Thus, he offers to join free of charge.

Fates[]

In Fire Emblem Fates, Ike comes along as an amiibo unit; utilizing an NFC reader or a New 3DS he can be recruited by using an Ike amiibo. Between his first and second visits to Corrin's castle, Ike wanders the world looking for a good fight, and is disappointed at the lack of one, noting that he misses the challenge of non-stop fights. Ike eventually challenges Corrin to a battle, and joins upon defeated, having been impressed by their army's strength and desiring to join their journey to fight powerful enemies.

Engage[]

In Fire Emblem Engage, Ike's spirit resides in the Ring of the Radiant Hero which was given to Solm by Queen Lumera to safeguard. Princess Timerra of Solm kept the ring safe by traveling the Solmic Deserts with it, keeping its location unknown. In Chapter 13, Alear invokes Ike with Timerra's permission, and any character can make use of Ike's skills following the chapter.

Personality[]

Ike is markedly very different from the Lord characters prior to him due to him being the first main character to not be of royal lineage. As such, Ike is the first to be of truly humble, commoner origin and thus is reflected in how his interactions are with most individuals. Having been raised in the company of a mercenary group and having been practically raised on the battlefield, Ike carries a noteworthy adult-view of the world. Hating to say more than what needs to be said, he is always stouthearted, leading some to perceive this as him acting above his actual ability. While true to the mercenary code of being loyal to coin for his employment, Ike genuinely has bonded with his employers and eventual allies. As such, Ike has a strong work ethic and sees all conflicts he has participated to the very end.

Ike has a rather plain view on matters and speaks bluntly, yet honestly. He sees beyond the immediate first impression of an individual, preferring to judge based on actions rather than status. This leads him to be one of the Beorc to almost indiscriminately gain approval by the Laguz after witnessing his honest disposition and open acceptance of all he comes across, even the likes of the originally Beorc hating Reyson. Partially influenced by Elincia, Ike genuinely hopes that the Beorc and Laguz can foster genuinely friendly relations with each other, especially finding camaraderie in Ranulf. According to his Emblem form in Engage, once he trusts someone, he never questions their motives, even if they lie to him, as he figures that person has a reason for their subterfuge. Though he doubted his capabilities as a leader, especially since he was thrust into the position of leader of the Greil Mercenaries, many have attested to his abilities early on in Path of Radiance and was solidified by the events of Radiant Dawn.

Ike's humble background as essentially common folk gave him a strong distaste for the nobility for their generally pompous nature. Unlike many commoners who seek prestige to elevate their status, Ike seeks no personal glory nor does he view such a life as rewarding. In fact, the only reason he became a Lord was a formality out of respect for Elincia, the first noble to challenge the stereotypical mold of nobility. Even after the events of the The Mad King's War, despite being given a formal lordship and land, Ike willingly gave it up at the first opportunity as he found the life too stifling to what he was used to and immediately returned to his mercenary duties. However, he remained a close associate with Elincia and readily took the request to help her during the attempted coup of her reign.

By the time of Radiant Dawn, Ike has matured significantly from his fledgling days as a mostly inexperienced fighter. Physically, he adopted many of his father's traits and, coupled with his cool personality, has enthralled many women including Aimee. Despite this, Ike has never openly stated anything in regards to romance with all of his closest female associates remaining platonic and has notably no romantic pairings or endings in his epilogues unlike nearly all main series Lord characters save perhaps Alear. However, the existence of Priam in Awakening hints that Ike may have found a romantic partner, though the name of said partner has never been revealed.

His deeds during the Mad King's war brought notice to his prowess across Tellius, earning him respect from many notable Beorc and Laguz warriors such as Zelgius and Caineghis, with many seeking to duel him, a proposition that excites him more often than not. He is a serious fighter, even when sparring or training, which unfortunately alienates most of his allies due to his sheer physical superiority. In fact, only Mia earnestly spars with him amongst his company due to the fact that she loves fighting almost as much as he does and thus is his preferred sparring partner. Though he was able to exact revenge against the Black Knight during the events of Path of Radiance, Ike never shook the feeling that the Black Knight survived the collapsing temple as his body was never found. His sudden reappearance in Radiant Dawn reignited Ike's desire to duel him to a close and by the end of the Endgame, Ike was able to finally gain closure over their feud. Even after he vanished after the events of Radiant Dawn, legends would continue to tout Ike as one of the mightiest heroes to have descended onto Tellius. His legend became so profound, in almost all of his future cameo appearances in other Fire Emblem titles, Ike is often touted as one of the physically strongest heroes in the franchise such as in Awakening, Engage, and Heroes.

Another notable quirk about Ike's character is his love for food. Soren, Oscar, Titania, and Lethe all hint that he eats a lot, rivaling that of a Laguz, who eat significantly more than a Beorc. Oscar and Soren say Ike particularly favors spicy meat dishes, mainly ribs and steaks.

As the game's Lord, Ike is a mainstay unit for its entire run, and unfortunately, something of a mixed bag. In his initial form, he has rather mediocre stats and is limited to swords, the weakest weapon type, giving him relatively unimpressive attacking power. That said, he can take on early axe enemies due to their abysmal Speed and his weapon triangle advantage, helping him contribute in early chapters and begin to grow. Ike's growths are above-average, giving him the potential to improve, especially as he is one of your few attackers in that period when Oscar and Boyd are still getting off the ground. If he remains on his averages, he should be fairly good all-around, though he does depend on his growths somewhat more than other units. His low base HP and melee focus makes him a good Seraph Robe candidate, which will help him hold out in the early game.

In the midgame, Ike gains supports, which he makes excellent use of, due to his Earth affinity providing a rather high boost to Avoid. This causes him to pair well with Oscar and Soren, who also have Avoid-focused affinities, making him very dodgy; at A-rank, a 22.5% boost from Soren (along with 2.5 Attack) or a 30% boost from Oscar. He obtains the Regal Sword during this period, which boasts effective damage over cavalry and armor; though it is largely not the strongest choice for taking them on, given its low Might and x2 effectiveness, it does improve his combat against them. However, this is also when it becomes apparent that Ike is completely locked to swords, meaning he lacks an easy option to counter at range and will therefore often be forced to chase down or endure units that Soren, Boyd, or especially Titania can easily dispatch. He may also risk falling behind or spend his time being carried if the player favors the use of mobile cavalry and fliers, as Ike lacks any counterpart to their greater Movement and highly-buffed Canto skill.

After his promotion, Ike ought to be one of your stronger combat units from a pure statistical view, and is a fine recipient of skills. Aether is popular, being unique to him and giving an even further boost to his durability and offense, but Wrath is also very much worth considering, as, while only usable at reduced health, it boasts a much higher activation rate and similar damage. In the very late game, he obtains his most valuable piece of equipment: Ragnell. Ragnell largely solves Ike's range issues by way of being able to attack at range, while also being unbreakable and boasting very high Mt and +5 Defense. Ragnell should make Ike largely invulnerable to generic enemies for the last few chapters, when backed up by high defensive growths and Earth affinity.

Ike is one of the more important candidates for the battle with Ashnard, being one of the few who can damage him and the only one the player has real time to prepare for. The best means of trivializing the encounter is with the Resolve skill obtained right beforehand, which should enable him to take down the mad king with relative ease, particularly when combined with Wrath. Without Resolve, he tends to be less proficient against Ashnard, and will likely be relying on an Aether activation to seriously damage him. He can still manage to aid the Laguz or Ena/Nasir in battle, however.

In all, Ike is a fairly competent unit, bolstered by his availability, but only tends to truly shine in the very late game.

Ike is a much stronger unit in Radiant Dawn. He has excellent base stats, retains his great growths, and is one of the strongest members of the Greil Mercenaries. Even if his speed growth has taken a landslide, he will still be fast anyway and still excel in every stat except magic, luck and resistance. Magic is absolutely useless to him and Aether is a much better skill than Imbue thanks to his insane skill stat and ranged swords are now essentially Javelins.

Ike does have a few flaws however. His resistance is very low, and combined with the high number of mages in this game, magic attacks can easily kill him in a couple of turns. While his promotion isn't too late, his access to axes is mostly useless because he already has Ragnell. The Hammer and Urvan are usually the only axes that are of any use to him. But either way, these flaws are minimal and if possible, he could solo the entire game. As the player is forced to bring Ike into every battle he participates in, it is thus of the utmost importance to train him over the course of the game. His importance to the game is further accentuated by the fact that he is the only character who is capable of defeating Zelgius and performing the finishing blow to Ashera.

Lastly, Ike is the boss of Chapter 13 of Part 3, and by then, he will plow through the Dawn Brigade unless they are Third Tier, so it's best you keep your distance from him, as Ragnell can't be removed from his inventory.

Base Set[]

Ike is a solid sword unit thanks in part to a robust stat spread for a Book I unit and due in part to a strong feature of his main weapon. 35 Atk allows him to deal out decently powerful damage and 31 Spd is respectable enough to duel some units. 72 Physical Bulk also means that he can effectively duel foes and take a hit or two in a pinch, though his magical bulks tremendously with a mere 18 Res for a total score of 60. Ike on his own can stand the test of time, especially if he is invested into through modern improvements like Dragonflowers and his Resplendent form. Perhaps fittingly, however, base form Ike is overshadowed by his Legendary variant who is basically a more optimized version with more tools and is freely available to all players at least for his first copy.
Ike carries Ragnell as expected and carries innately the powerful Distant Counter skill so he can counterattack ranged foes. Its later refine reduces his special's base cooldown by 1 and if he has at least 25% of his HP at the start of combat, he gains +4 to his four core stats.
Ike's base kit includes his trademark Aether for damage and healing despite the long cooldown of 5. Thankfully with his Ragnell refine, it becomes a more manageable 4.
Ike has Heavy Blade, which accelerates his special cooldown as long as he has 1 point higher in his Atk stat over his enemy. Sitting comfortably at a 48 minimum base Atk stat with a bane only a few handful of Book I units can avoid this and with dragonflowers and merges, he can push this onto modern units as well. Finally, he has Swordbreaker which allows him to duel many speedy sword units with his strong damage output on top of the bonus follow-up attack. With the Weapon Refine update focused on weapons with innate Distant Counter, Ragnell's unique refine shortens Aether's cooldown by 1 point, making it faster to activate, akin to it's upgraded forms, Radiant Aether/Mayhem Aether, and grants him 4 points to all stats, as long as his health is equal or above 25% of it's total. Ike will still have a tough competition amongst sword units, but it's perks will catch up some attention.

Counters[]

Ike is weak to a majority of the Blue meta, especially those with good bulk or powerful magic. Common threats include Nowi, Corrin, and Ephraim for bulky blues and Lute, Delthea, Micaiah, and Reinhardt for blue mages. Fast Firesweep weapon users also can bypass Ike's bulk and strength, safely dispatching him without fear or retaliation. He is also vulnerable to Ploy skills due to his lower Res. Finally, Brave Lyn shuts down his Distant Counter ability thanks to Sacae's Blessing

Skill Inheritance[]

Focusing on an enemy phase build for combat is Ike's best option for optimization. Reposition is his best support skill for positioning play. Ignis compliments his good Def stat and charges faster than Aether, though losing the ability to heal may not be a desirable trade off. Either Breath Skill A works, but Steady Breath is the better of the two for him. Quick Riposte gives him the means to double attack in the enemy phase since he will not likely be able to do it otherwise. His Skill C is flexible, though Threaten Defense is a solid option for him overall for more damage output on opponents.

Base Set[]

Brave Ike is a powerful infantry Axe tanking unit as he has solid physical bulk and high Atk. His Spd is roughly average and his Res is low, which may seem to contradict the first sentence, but this resolved due to his powerful preferred weapon. Brave Ike is now a standard unit in most player's army given that he was a choice for the free Choose Your Legends 1 unit and was later given as a free reward for completing Heroes' Path, thus should be properly prepared to find more than ever on other player's Arena Duel, Arena Assault, and Aether Raids teams. He is also currently the only Choose Your Legends unit with a Resplendent Form, something that buffs his stats to 2 extra points.

Urvan serves not only as his source of damage, pushing his Atk to a neutral 52 and granting him a special cooldown acceleration, but it reduces the damage of any follow-up attack from his enemy by 80%. While it gave him a potent means of taking hits from much faster units, two years after his release, he alongside his fellow Choose Your Legends 1 units receive weapon refines and his truly devastates. Refined Urvan now reduces the first attack received by 40% and if his opponent can perform a follow-up attack, they immediately perform it before he can counterattack. This can actually disrupt his opponent's special activation, making him even more problematic to face. It is well worth the investment to refine Brave Ike

Brave Ike retains his access to Aether, providing damage and healing when it activates in exchange for a lengthy cooldown, which is circumvented by Urvan and his Skill A Steady Breath, increasing his Def by 4 when his opponent initiates combat on him and further accelerates his special cooldown by 1 per attack. His unique Beorc's Blessing neutralizes any bonuses his Cavalry or Flying opponents have. Finally Threaten Defense reduces enemy Def by 5.

Counters[]

Brave Ike is his sole version without access to Distant Counter in his base kit, thus a non-premium Ike can be dealt with Mages, namely nuking reds like Sanaki, Lysithea, and Lilina. While he can reduce damage thanks to his refined Urvan, he cannot shave damage from AOE specials used on the likes of Lilina and Ophelia. The Hardy Bearing seal also disrupts Urvan's forced follow-up effect, and thus is good on high bulk Reds who can take a hit from him like Black Knight and his Valentines counterpart.

Skill Inheritance[]

Brave Ike's base kit is functional enough to run as is, requiring mainly Reposition as his Support skill as it is a standard unit positioning skill for Infantry units. Regardless if refined, Distant Counter is an excellent Skill A, but is a general must when using refined Urvan to maximize its effects. He can make excellent usage of Sol to give him healing and with Urvan's acceleration effect, he can charge it after taking his opponent's forced follow-up attacks in a single round of combat. Null C-Disrupt will prevent his ranged enemies, namely Dazzling Staff from preventing his counterattacks. Quick Riposte helps in situations where he cannot force the Urvan effect on his opponent, thus giving him a guaranteed follow-up, especially since his Spd is preferably his Flaw to maximize the amount of units who can double him. Pulse Smoke will shore up any special reliant Arena and Aether Raids teams by forcibly tacking on a point to their special cooldown if he starts his turn within two spaces of them. Otherwise, Attack Smoke will reduce their Atk with a massive -7 penalty.

Base Set[]

Legendary Ike is a superior version of his normal form. With a better optimized statline and is readily accessible to all players through story due to being the Player's choice Hero for Book I, Legendary Ike is a powerful asset to the player's army.

Like his normal version, Legendary Ike has his Distant Counter equipped Ragnell, allowing him to counterattack at any range. Legendary Ike's greatest asset is his Radiant Aether which charges even faster than normal Aether, making it unquestionably his best Special Skill.

Warding Breath is his Skill A which accelerates his special cooldown when attacked and provides bonus Res when attacked, allowing him to better safely bait some mages. Seal Atk/Def is his Skill B which inflicts -5 to his opponents Atk and Def after combat. Finally Defense Tactic is his Skill C, which grants Def +6 to all allies in range so long as the number of movement types in his range are two or less. Overall, Legendary Ike in his base form is ready for combat and is best defensively, but still needs some outside help to fully exploit his strengths.

Legendary Ike was, alongside Fjorm, reworked in the 1st Legendary Hero Remix. For his C skill, he was granted Joint Drive Resistance, helping him deal with mages/healers/dragons in a less troublesome way. His Radiant Aether became Radiant Aether II, having a Quickened Pulse effect on Turn 1, which means he will immediately start Enemy Phase releasing his Special on the unfortunate enemy that tries to face him. Lately, with the Weapon Refine update of weapons imbued with Distant Counter, Ragnell's special refine shortens his current special by 1 point, meaning Radiant Aether II will be just 1 point before triggering, and he also gets 4 points to all stats if he's with 25% of his health or more, giving him more durability to withstand the foe's assault.

Counters[]

Even with Warding Breath, Legendary Ike stands little chance against many common blue mages like Lute, Delthea, Reinhardt, and Micaiah. Majority of bulky blue tanks also shrug him off like Ephraim and Nephenee. Firesweep units commonly bypass his counter effects and Brave Lyn's Sacae's Blessing negates his ability to counterattack and can easily double him.

Skill Inheritance Options[]

For the most part, Legendary Ike's final build is similar to his normal variation. Reposition is his best support skill for unit manipulation. Unlike his base form, he does not need Ignis since Radiant Aether has the same charge timer with a better effect. Steady Breath is a better variation of Warding Breath and better compliments his dueling build. Quick Riposte is his desired Skill B for guaranteed follow up attacks. Finally, Ike's Skill C is flexible and works well with his built in Def Tactic, but Threaten Defense can also work for damage output or Threaten Attack to reduce his enemy's offensive prowess.

Base Set[]

Valentines Ike is a spectacular seasonal unit mainly due to a great stat distribution awarded to him as a result of being an Armor unit. With a minimum 48 Atk and 35 Spd with a bane for either, Valentines Ike's strong offensive stat line allows him to compete with many strong units in the meta. His only true downside is his low Res, but he can easily cover that up with proper skills and inheritance.

Valentines Ike can be considered another version of his legendary form, especially since he carries Radiant Aether as a special skill, which was exclusive to Legendary Ike, however his main difference is that Heart's Blade lacks the Distant Counter effect of Ragnell innately. However, Valentines Ike can deal with this absence since he has access to Armor unit skill in this form and can make great usage of it with his base kit alone, especially since the aforementioned Distant Counter is his skill A. He has access to the particularly potent Special Fighter skill which accelerates his special cooldown during combat and has Even Speed Wave, granting him a strong Spd boost during even number turns.

Overall, while limited to a Seasonal Unit, Valentines Ike is a powerful armor unit that can compete with the likes of Black Knight and Zelgius for top tier Armor unit, if only hindered by said limited availability.

Counters[]

Strong blue units are the easiest units to exploit Valentines Ike, especially the likes of Est and Oboro who carry armor slaying weapons, Ephraim, Brave Hector and Effie who carry high Def, or Ophelia, Ishtar, and Lute who have strong Atk for their tomes to run through his defense. Brave Lyn, Brave Veronica, and any other unit that can negate his ability to counter from a distance also proves problematic for Ike. Above all, Micaiah, especially her base form, can easily one-shot Valentines Ike with her combination of high Magic, Color Advantage, and Armor effectiveness through Thani.

Skill Inheritance Options[]

Valentines Ike already has more than enough to require just one single skill and that is a Support skill. Swap or Pivot prove to be effective skills for armor units and Ike is no exception. The only skill that can change is is his Skill C which is flexible to accommodate skills meant for Armor teams such as Armor March or Ward Armors and the like.

Based on a Cipher depiction of him after touching Lehran's Medallion, Fallen Ike is a force to be reckoned with. His statline is slightly similar to his other forms, with an emphasis on his speed.

Chaos Ragnell's still with Distant Counter imbued on it, but it's greatest boon is that any visible stat debuff on Fallen Ike, including ones granted by a Panic status, will actually become buffs during combat (Ex.: A Chill Speed targeted on him, instead of diminishing his speed by 7 points will become a +14 bonus to his speed). This essentially turn debuff focused characters as easy prey for him. Mayhem Aether is much like its Radiant form, having a cooldown of 4 points. Fallen Ike also has Darting Breath, which will still work as in his other forms.

Repel is a Knock Back imbued with speed-based reduction. Having 50 of speed with a boon and joined with Darting Breath, means few units won't have their attacks soaked. Attack Speed Oath strengthens his attack and speed by 5 points if he starts the turn near an ally, making his main asset much more solid.

Counters[]

Although his speed makes him a menace, Fallen Ike still will be targeted by healers with Dazzling Staff, Brave Lyn due to Sacae's Blessing (although she won't double him), any blue mage with a humongous attack, such as Delthea, Reinhardt and Ishtar, fast Firesweep users and additionally both forms of Altina if she triggers her Twin Blades, or strong bow users with Deadeye.

Skill Inheritance Options[]

Fallen Ike's base kit is solid, so just a position skill, such as Pivot or Swap, will suffice. The player can also go to the bread-and-butter Fury, if desired. Going for skills oriented on speed, such as Speed Smoke can also help stack up his Repel. For premium options, Spurn or Joint Drive Speed might be interesting options.

Base Set[]

Emblem Ike is the second Emblem Hero in Heroes and retains his status as a omnitank unit like his how his Emblem works in Engage. He sits on a massive 47 base Atk and excellent mixed bulk of 86 physical bulk and 83 magical bulk. His only stat downside is his low Spd which does make him vulnerable to Follow-Up Attacks. In the end, his one stat weakness is hardly a particular detriment as he carries such high bulk through his innate stats and skill combination mitigates the threat and makes him into a stalwart wall that can take punishment and dish it back.
Emblem Ragnell retains Ragnell's ability to counterattack from a distance and gives him a accelerated Special trigger, requiring one less attack to activate his special. At the start of combat, if he has at least 25%, he gains Atk and inflicts an Atk penalty on his foe equal to 25% of his foe's Atk -2, inflicting as little as 6 and at most 16. After, he neutralizes all penalties on himself, neutralizes any skill that prevents him from counterattacking, and neutralizes effects that inflict Special Cooldown charge -X on him during combat.
His unique Emblem Skill is Great Aether, a four attack cooldown special, is reduced to 3 by Emblem Ragnell's effect. When his special triggers, he gains Atk equal to the number of times his foe attacks x10 +40, giving him as much as 80 additional Atk against foes using Brave weapons. Great Aether changes the attack order of combat, allowing his foe to hit him first, even if he initiates combat and launch their Follow-Up Attack before he attacks or counterattacks. He also reduces each attack based of the remaining charges of his Special cooldown on the first attack by at most 40% and then up to 70% from the second attack onward. After combat, he deals 5 non-lethal damage to all foes within three rows and three colloms centered on himself, inflicts special cooldown+1, and restores HP to Emblem Ike equal to to the foes hit by this effect x5+10, healing at most 50% of his HP afterwards.
Defense Resistance Finish grants Emblem Ike an additional Def/Res+7 during combat if he is within three spaces of an ally. If his special is ready, he deals an additional +5 non-lethal damage during combat and if he deals attacks his foe, he gains 7 HP. Laguz Friend inflicts Atk-5 on his foe during combat. If his cooldown count value is 3 or more, which Great Aether is even with the special acceleration of Emblem Ragnell, and can trigger his special or if his foe's attack can trigger his special, he reduces the damage of non-Special damage reduction effects by 50% and reduces damage of foe's attack by 20% of the greater of unit's Def or Res. When his special triggers, he can deal damage equal to 20% of the greater Def or Res stat he has if his special triggers off of his own attack or if his foe's attack can trigger his special, such as Pavise. Canto Control inflicts the 【Canto Control】 penalty on foes within four spaces of him when they trigger their Canto effect, limiting their movment to strictly one tile of movement for melee range foes and immediately ends the action of a ranged foe.

Counters[]

Emblem Ike's absurd levels of tankiness make him incredibly hard to pierce through unless it can be done in essentially a single attack. AoE specials can immediately sunder him as all of his damage reductions come directly during battles and if they can get him to start battle under 25% HP, he loses more of his in-combat penalties. This can also make him vulnerable to things like Savage Blow that target his allies and hit him with the chip damage before he is directly attacked. Some units who lack the Spd to perform follow-up attacks greatly bypass his desire to be piled with attacks to make the most damage. Winter Edelgard with her base kit can solidly check him with her base kit alone and all of her skills in effect, but will need to initiate the attack on him twice to cleanly kill him. Veyle can also counter him if she can keep both her Obscurité and Fell Protection effects active. Mythic Lumera innately solidly walls him off and will require two separate rounds of combat to kill him, though the exact order and types of combat initiation can vary depending on Lumera's current field set up with her allies and Emblem Ike's allies. Scowl 4 effects on non-green Dragons effectively shuts down Great Aether's damage boost and heavily mitigates his retalitory attack. Another option is to inflict【Deep Wounds】onto him to prevent him from getting his regeneration effects, thus preventing him from returning above his damage thresholds.

Super Smash Bros. series[]

Ike is the third character from the Fire Emblem series to be a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. series. In stark contrast with Marth, who focuses on speed, mobility, and fluidity, Ike is slower and heavier, but much more powerful than Marth. Many of his standard attacks deals considerable amount of damage and his smash attacks can easily K.O. most characters at semi-low percentages, however his moves have long start ups and are easily punishable if he wiffs the attack or the enemy properly dodges or shields his attacks due to their long recovery periods. Like Marth, he also lacks projectiles, solidifying himself as a powerful close quarter fighter. Jason Adkins and Hagi Michihiko reprise their roles as Ike's voice actor in both of his appearances.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]

Ike is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, his first appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series. Ike appears in his Ranger outfit from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. He fights using the Ragnell, something that he cannot do in his Ranger outfit in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and this gives his attacks power and range, but as a result he is slower and heavier than most characters. Ike was not originally intended to be in the game from the start; instead, Masahiro Sakurai had created a template for a slow but powerful swordsman. As he also wanted to include a new Fire Emblem character, it was decided that Ike, in addition to being the protagonist of the latest games in the Fire Emblem series at the time, would be a good fit for the concept. Ike is voiced by Jason Adkins in English, and by Michihiko Hagi in Japanese, his respective voice actors since the release of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. This also makes him the first Fire Emblem character in the series to be given an English voice actor. In the international versions, he yells 'Great Aether' instead of 'Aether'.

Ike's neutral special move is Eruption, in which he plunges his sword into the ground to create an explosion. His side special move is Quick Draw, which has Ike charge a sword slash that sends him directly forward. His up special is Aether, in which Ike throws his sword into the air and slams back into the ground. His down special move is Counter, which has Ike deal a counterattack if he is hit. His Final Smash is Great Aether, which has him slash any nearby opponents into the air, where he repeatedly attacks them before slamming them back into the ground.

Snake of the Metal Gear series is a playable character, and he can use his codec during battle to call one of his associates for information on any character he fights, including Ike.

The Subspace Emissary[]

Ike makes his debut in The Subspace Emissary near the end of The Battlefield Fortress. During the story, both Marth and Meta Knight fail to stop the Ancient Minister from carrying another Subspace Bomb to another location in the trophy world. Hope seems lost for the two, until, out of nowhere, the Ragnell sword begins hovering behind the Ancient Minister, and Ike continues to use Aether on the Subspace Bomb, breaking it and deactivating it, making the Ancient Minister flee. The three warriors continue through the wasteland, finally reaching the Ancient Minister, but are unable to do anything as he floated over a cliff.

The three continue to dash onwards through The Wilds, after seeing Galleom in its tank form. Galleom transforms into its main form after meeting the swordsmen. Ike, Marth, and Meta Knight face off against Galleom afterwords, and then continue into The Canyon. After Meta Knight had left the group after Galleom was defeated a second time, Ike, alongside Pokémon Trainer, Lucas, and Marth, are seen fighting many Primids, now with the Ice Climbers. The five "warriors" are then seen (Mario, Pit, Kirby, Link, and Yoshi) in the background, jumping off from a bluff to help fight off the army. After awhile, Ike, alongside many others, are flown into Subspace, where he and all others are turned into trophies. However, King Dedede, Ness, and Luigi recover him, and others (Kirby also helps afterwards). He and the others are then pitted against The Great Maze, and then the creature whom turned the heroes into trophies, Tabuu.

Ike returns as a veteran fighter in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, both in which he is a starter character. Ike is the second Fire Emblem representative who appears in more than one iteration of the Super Smash Bros. series. Ike has his design altered to his appearance as a Hero in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, while continuing to wield Ragnell. While Ike's moveset is no different from the previous game, most of his attacks that use fire use blue flames rather than the red seen in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, referencing his blessing by the goddess Yune at the end of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, during which his sword is cloaked in blue fire. Ike receives faster movement and attack speed, in exchange for his overall damage output being slightly toned down.

Palutena's Guidance appears only in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and it is similar to Snake's Codec in Brawl. Pit holds a special conversation with Palutena and Viridi to comment on one of Pit's opponents, including Ike, giving him helpful tips about their strengths and weaknesses. This is based on the numerous chapter dialogue in Kid Icarus: Uprising.

In the Boxing Ring stage, Ike's alias is "The Radiant Hero of Legend."

Ike in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Ike reappears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a playable character. Players are now given a choice to play as Ike in either his Ranger outfit from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance or his Hero outfit from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. His voice also changes slightly depending on which appearance is used, which is provided by his voice actor from Fire Emblem Heroes, Greg Chun, replacing Jason Adkins from previous Super Smash Bros. installments. Ike benefits greatly from universal changes: his mobility is even faster, his short hop timing is greatly reduced, his aerials have less landing lag, his recovery is extended by the reintroduction of directional air dodges, and his offensive play is aided by the abilities to use any ground attack out of a run and use his aerials on ladders.

Ike received his own route in Classic Mode, "The Black-Clad Warriors," in which he has to fight characters in dark-colored alternate costumes (except if they are dark-colored by default). This represents his relationship with the Black Knight in his own games.

With Snake also making a reappearance, following an absence from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, Ike's codec conversation from Brawl returns as well. However, it does not activate if Ike is wearing his Radiant Dawn outfit.

Like with several other returning fighters, Ike's (as well as Marth and Roy's) victory theme has been sped up compared to the previous installments.

Viridi: He's basically either a mercenary or a hero.
Palutena: The two versions of Ike may look and sound a bit different, but his strength doesn't change at all.
Viridi: But one of them is three years older than the other. Shouldn't the older one be stronger?
Palutena: Yeah, you'd think the older one would have three more years of training under his belt.
Pit: Maybe he skipped three years of arm days.
Palutena: I somehow doubt that. Have you seen the way he swings that sword? One blow from that sword can do more damage than two of yours, Pit. Be careful.

Special Moveset[]

  • Regular Special: Eruption: A chargeable Earth-smashing move that sends flames bursting from the ground where Ike stabs the ground to cause a geyser of flame to erupt, hence its name. If held too long, it will automatically release and cause an explosion, damaging Ike as well as any enemies in range. It has launch resistance frames at the moment Ike is about to stab the sword into the ground, and similar to Roy's Flare Blade, it causes recoil damage to Ike at full charge. The flames are red in Brawl and blue for 3DS and Wii U. In Ultimate, charging the attack to full power results in three pillars of flame rather than one.
    • Custom Regular Special 1: Tempest: Ike stabs the ground, creating a small gust of wind around it. It will only damage an enemy if they come into contact with the move. If they are near Ike, but not touching the blade, they will be pushed away from him. The distance the wind pushes the enemy is dependent on how long the move is charged. Using it in the air will allow Ike to gain a little bit of vertical height with the first hit, but it will lose that property and will instead cause Ike to stall in place with every usage after the first if Ike does not touch the ground or a ledge.
    • Custom Regular Special 2: Furious Eruption: Ike creates a larger explosion with higher vertical height for the blast. At full charge, it will deal 15% of recoil damage
  • Side Special: Quick Draw: Another chargeable move in which Ike lunges straight forward and strikes his enemy (based on his critical hit animation in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance before he promotes to a Lord). It can also be used and charged in midair and Ike will still move forward at the same height in which he released this move, but will descend once the move ends. However, Ike will be in a helpless state if the move connects onto an enemy in midair (in Brawl, he is not left helpless if the hit connects in SSB4) or if he falls short from a ledge or does not land on the ground. This move is an optional recovery move and is good for horizontal off stage recovery.
    • Custom Side Special 1: Close Combat: Ike tackles the opponent and will move through them rather than stopping once he makes contact like the base form. The longer the move is held, the father he will travel and the enemies are launched vertically rather than horizontally. It can also neutralize most weak projectiles.
    • Custom Side Special 2: Unyielding Blade: Ike's Quick Draw gains armor that lasts until Ike makes contact with an enemy or the move animation ends. It has higher knock back and deals more damage. However, Ike will still take damage if he is hit and the move has less range than the base form.
  • Up Special: Aether: Based on his mastery skill. Ike performs the standard Sol animation from his Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn Aether move. He throws Ragnell into the air and jumps to catch it. Ike front-flips three times then slams the sword along with any enemy he connected with into the ground. This move has little horizontal recovery but is an effective recovery from the bottom of the stage as the vertical leap has great height. Like the Eruption move, Aether has launch resistance frames before Ike throws Ragnell in the air and can even take Marth's Final Smash without flinching during that period. However, he will still sustain any damage he would have received from the hit.
    • Custom Up Special 1: Aether Dive: Ike throws Ragnell at a diagonal trajectory then leaps and catches it before doing the same front flip and blade slam moves as the base form. He will land approximately three character lengths in front of where he executed the move. The blade throw portion and front flips have more knockback.
    • Custom Up Special 2: Aether Wave: Ike's Aether activates faster. When Ike slams onto the ground, he creates a small shockwave similar to Kirby's Final Cutter.
  • Down Special: Counter: Ike takes a defensive stance, holding Ragnell with two hands and pointing the blade down. Any physical hit dealt on Ike during this move will be dealt back as an attack multiplied by 1.2. with a minimum of 10% damage (slashes at the foe with a right-handed inward slash in reverse grip). Ike shares this special move with Marth but there are key differences. Ike's Counter has a longer start up but shorter cooldown compared to Marth. However their Counter time window is the same.
    • Custom Down Special 1: Paralyzing Counter: Ike's counter deals no counter damage, however it applies a small electrical effect that stuns the enemy for a second, allowing Ike to execute a free combo immediately after the Counter activates.
    • Custom Down Special 2: Smash Counter: Ike's counter starts up slower and the execution of the counter hit is much slower. However, it can soak multiple hits and deals more damage and knockback. However, the enemy can shield before the counter hits if they are fast enough.
  • Final Smash: Great Aether: Ike coats Ragnell with fire and performs a much more powerful version of his in-game Aether move. Ike must connect with an enemy within one to about two character lengths away from him with the initial blow of this move. Ike can connect with multiple enemies with the initial hit. If the move connects, Ike will launch all enemies he hit into the air and perform a series of kicks and slashes before performing the standard Aether flip-slashes. After, Ike will then drive the enemies into the ground, resulting in a large explosion. Any enemy caught in the explosion will be launched vertically. In Brawl this move deals roughly 64%-74% damage to any enemies caught by this move, but only 12% from anyone hit only by the ending explosion. Since Ike has never used Great Aether in any of the Fire Emblem games in which he has appeared in, some interpret that it may be a manifestation or variation of Ike's final blow against Ashera, when Yune lends him her power in Radiant Dawn.

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.[]

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is compatible with the Super Smash Bros. 4 amiibos of Fire Emblem characters. When scanned, a S.T.E.A.M. version of Ike will appear in game.

Ike wields Ragnell which retains its signature ability to launch shockwaves at distant enemies. He also wields Urvan which deals heavy damage to a wide area around him. Ike's signature ability is Aether which heavily damages enemies in front of Ike.

Ike Ike's manner is a little rough, but he is a formidable soldier who swings his greatsword and giant axe with ease. He seems to be made entirely of muscle and poor manners.
Milton on Ike While Ike is not of high birth, he is noble in his character. His talents are those of a professional soldier, yet he is never eager to raise a blade. When asked, he simply replies that war has cost him dearly, and he hopes by his efforts to keep others from losing what he has lost.

Super Mario Maker[]

SMM Ike

Ike appears in Super Mario Maker as one of the costumes that Mario can transform into via a Mystery Mushroom. The Ike outfit is unlocked either by completing the 100 Mario Challenge on Normal difficulty or harder or by scanning an Ike amiibo.

The Ike costume is designed after Ike's map sprite from Fire Emblem Fates, flattened and scaled down to fit Small Mario's height and featuring more vibrant colors to fit the aesthetics of Super Mario Bros. Sound effects from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light are used, like with the Marth outfit. By pressing up on the D-Pad, the player can have Ike perform his taunt, which involves him taking out Ragnell and assuming his Super Smash Bros. pose.

Uses[]

Green cards have effects that involve use of the Level Up function of the game, also known as "Stacking", and the Radiant Hero of Tellius showcases this in one of the best ways. Unlike many of the Lord Class characters in Cipher, Ike does not have a Cost 2 card, a trait he currently only shares with Sigurd and Eliwood. Instead, he features an extra Cost 3/2 Promoted card, which is better for you if you are using Ike as your Main Character.

His Cost 1 card gains 10 ATK when his Level or "Stack" reaches two, which is quite easy with Green cards. His Cost 3/2 is also fairly straightforward - during the turn he Class-Changes into it, he gains 1-2 Range, very useful in the midgame when your opponent is trying to hide key Units in the Rearguard. Ike's Starter Deck Exclusive gets to destroy 2 Orbs during the turn you Level Up another Unit, an ability that activates quite a bit in Green decks, and it also has an ability that can give him 1-2 Range while in the Vanguard if his Level/Stack is at three.

His SR cards, however, are where Ike really makes use of the LVS Skills. His Series 3 SR shares the LvS3 Skill his Starter Deck Exclusive carries, along with a Rally Skill that activates whenever he defeats an enemy Unit while at a Level/Stack of four. This Rally is unique among the Rally Skills in that it is the only one that requires the Unit to attack to trigger, making it difficult if not impossible to use multiple times in one turn without a Dancer Unit. Ike then has an LvS5 Skill that gives him a permanent +10 ATK and makes him break two Orbs instead of one. As for his Series 5 SR, it brings to bear Ike's mighty signature move, Aether. It reads "When this Unit attacks a Main Character, you can pay the cost, and if you do, destroy up to two Units that are not the enemy Main Character, also give all your units +10 ATK until the end of your opponent's next turn." The cost it wants you to pay is 5 Bonds, a ridiculous amount in any deck.

However, his second Skill keeps him from being the worst Lord card. This Skill reads "For every card stacked with this Unit, reduce the cost of 'Aether' by one Bond. You cannot reduce the cost of 'Aether' below one Bond." This Skill basically says that if Ike is your Main Character and you're Class-Changing or Leveling him Up, this card will just get better for each Class-Change or Level Up you do. If you run one of every copy of Ike and Class-Change him up through every one, you will have a Level/Stack of five when you reach this one and Aether will only cost one Bond to kill two free Units whenever you happen to want to swing at the opposing Main Character. In the end, Ike is an amazing example of the strength of Green cards, as is expected from such a legendary Hero, and he works very well with cards that let you Level up other cards, most notably Elincia's cards.

Etymology[]

'Ike' is short for 'Isaac,' a Biblical patriarch whose name means 'he laughs.' His father, Abraham, prayed to God for a son and was finally given Isaac although he and his wife, Sarah, were too old to bear children. When told by God that she would have a child despite her venerable old age, laughed to herself at the seemingly impossible thought and mocked Abraham and God in her heart. In this way, then, the name 'Ike' would be a reference to an important son and heir, but also to one who brings laughter and happiness. Ike's birth name suits him well, as he is the son of a legendary mercenary Greil/Gawain and Ike eventually inherited the Greil Mercenaries succeeding his father in his place.

Ike's name in the original drafts of the game, Paris, is from the Iliad. Paris was the prince of Troy whom Aphrodite promised the most beautiful woman in the world for his wife—this woman, Helen, was already married, and when she and Paris ran off, Helen's husband Menelaus chased them to Troy and began the ten-year-long Trojan War. There, Achilles killed Paris' brother Hector and Paris killed Achilles by shooting an arrow at his famous weak heel. Then the Greek Philoctetes killed Paris by shooting him with a poisoned arrow; a dying Paris called for his former lover, the nymph Oenone, to save him, but she refused, Paris died, and Helen was taken back to Sparta.

'Ike' can also refer to Dwight D. Eisenhower, whose nickname was Ike. Eisenhower was an American general during World War II who helped architect the Normandy invasion of 1944. He was later elected the 34th President of the United States. Ike's English-language crowd cheer in the Super Smash Bros. series, "We like Ike", is a direct reference to Eisenhower's 1953 presidential campaign slogan. The reference is also shared in Fire Emblem Heroes, in which the Brave Hero version of Ike features the English voice line, "You like Ike?"

Trivia[]

  • Ike is the first main character who is not of noble birth, followed by Byleth and Alear.
  • Ike has an unused support with Zihark in Path of Radiance's data.
  • In Chapter 25 of Path of Radiance, after the battle is won, the scene with Ike and his group hiking the mountain shows Ike on screen wearing his old Ranger costume even though he's been promoted to Lord class after Chapter 17, while in the text dialog box, it shows Ike's profile picture wearing his Lord costume.
  • Although Ike considers himself to be a Crimean, having grown to maturity within its borders, he has neither blood nor birth ties to the country, as both of his parents are Daein natives and he was born in Gallia.
  • In Super Smash Bros Brawl, Ike wields the Ragnell blade, despite his appearance being that of his Ranger class.
    • Additionally in Brawl, the move Quick Draw, looks very similar to Ike's critical animation as a Ranger in Path of Radiance.
    • Ike's on-screen appearance has him warp into the level in a similar fashion to the Black Knight in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn.
  • Ike appears to be clad in leather shoulder pads in his portraits and artwork. However, these shoulder pads appear to be made of metal in cutscenes.
  • If Ranulf and Ike share an A rank support, it is revealed that Ranulf goes on a journey, with no mention of Ike. However, if they do not support each other, such a journey will not be mentioned.
  • In Path of Radiance, Ike is 17 years old, and in Radiant Dawn he is 20 years old, as stated in the Fire Emblem Q and A website and, later on, in the Tellius Recollection.
  • Ike has seven different portraits: One as a Ranger, one as a Lord, one as a Hero, one as a Vanguard, two for the endings in both games, and one exclusive to his first fight with the Black Knight.
  • Ike's SpotPass team in Awakening is based on some members of the Greil Mercenaries. The units in Ike's team are:

  • Within non-Tellius Series Fire Emblem titles, Ike is sometimes described as the strongest hero in the series as a whole.
    • In Awakening, Ike is described by Old Hubba as 'The strongest the world has known' in Champions of Yore 3.[1]
    • In the Awakening Paralogue The Radiant Hero, Chrom describes Ike as an 'unparalleled warrior from another world'.
      • In the Japanese script, Chrom describes Ike as a legendary swordsman from another world who possessed a sword blessed by the goddess and had the sword skills to slay tens of thousands.[2]
    • In Chapter 10-1 of Heroes Book I, Ike is directly stated to be the strongest hero in all the worlds.
    • In the Heroes Tempest Trial 'A Hero's Mettle', Micaiah states that "his strength is unmatched" to which Masked Marth agrees.
    • In Rafal's C rank bond conversation with Ike in Engage, it is revealed that Ike is considered the strongest of all the Emblems.[3]
  • Ike's Path of Radiance appearance ranked in 1st place as the winner for males and 3rd place overall in the inaugural Choose Your Legends ballot, which was held just prior to the release of Fire Emblem Heroes in 2017.
  • Ike shares his English voice actor in Heroes and Engage, Greg Chun, with Ephraim, Eldigan, and Lukas in Heroes.
  • Ike is the winner of the 6th Voting Gauntlet (Choose Your Legends) in Heroes.
    • He is also the first male character in Heroes to win a Voting Gauntlet.
  • In the Super Smash Bros. series, if Ike grabs someone while he is a giant and does a pummel, the grabbed opponent instantly breaks free from the grab, regardless of their damage. This also happens if Ike grabs someone while tiny.
  • Ike (Vanguard Legend) won the inaugural "A Hero Rises" event in Heroes in 2018 with a total of 130,622 votes.
  • Ike is the only lead of a main series Fire Emblem game who never marries, either during the course of his games or in any of his endings.

    • Priam's name in the Japanese version of Awakening, Paris, is an apparent reference to Ike's original name from early in the development of Path of Radiance.
  • There is a bug in the North American version of Path of Radiance that causes Ike to have four Iron Swords in Chapter 1 if the Visit tutorial is skipped. This was not present in the Japanese version, and was fixed for the European release.
  • Ike was included in the title screen of Heroes upon the game's launch, though he wasn't added to the game as a character until two months after the game's initial release.
  • In Ike and Zelgius' profiles in Tellius Recollection Volume 2, It is stated that Ike is the wielder of both divine twin blades Ragnell and Alondite, reminiscent of Altina.[4]
