Luce is a high-levelled Light magic tome from Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. A more powerful version of the A-ranked Light magic tome Aura, the Luce tome may be obtained in the final chapter of The Blazing Blade by defeating the Kenneth morph. When cast, swirls of divine energy will centripetally congregate into the centre of the immediate battlefield, charging up and eventually giving rise to an orb of light. As this orb of light absorbs more and more energy, it will eventually shatter and send a fury of light stakes in the direction of the selected enemy target.

The Luce tome is widely considered to be the best Light Magic tome in The Blazing Blade, surpassing even the likes of the holy Aureola tome, owing to the fact that it possesses a higher Might and Critical rate than the latter tome does. However, it lacks the ability to deal effective damage to Nergal and the Fire Dragon, does not possess a boost of 5 Resistance, and is more cumbersome, so Aureola is usually better during the final stages of the final battle.

Etymology[]

"Luce" means "light" in Italian, and is derived from the Latin word lux, which also means light. Luce is the ablative singular form of lux roughly translating to "with/by light".

Trivia[]

  • Luce appears in The Sacred Stones in the game's item files under the name "Dummy". However, it has different stats from its original version in The Blazing Blade. Just like Forblaze's Dummy version, it lacks a spell animation but can still kill enemies, and is completely unobtainable without hacking the game.
