Not to be confused with the Regal Blade, the S-ranked weapon that Lloyd wields in the final chapter of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade.

The Regal Sword is a unique sword that appears exclusively in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. A gift that Ike receives from his father, the Regal Sword is effective against both armoured and mounted units, inflicting twice the normal amount of damage against such units. The Regal Sword's stats are identical to the more common Rapier that manifests in a majority of the other titles in the Fire Emblem Series, and can thus be perceived to be the Path of Radiance incarnation of said weapon. In comparison to the Iron Sword, the Regal Sword is clearly the more potent of the two, complete with its possession of higher Might and lower Weight. This makes it an extremely valuable weapon during the early stages of the game given Ike's Strength is still rather low. A similar weapon for Micaiah, called Thani, exists in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

Trivia[]

  • Early screenshots of the Path of Radiance prototype reveal that, at some stage in the development process, Ike was meant to wield a "Rapier" instead of the Regal Sword as his preferred weapon. This could possibly account for the Regal Sword bearing statistics that are uncannily similar to those borne by the Rapier.
  • Ike is observed to be wielding the Regal sword on the cover artwork of Path of Radiance.
