Crossing Paths[]

Opening[]

  • Lara: Wow! We ran for quite a while, and we still haven't managed to shake those bandits, have we?
  • Safy: Indeed we have not. I can still hear them hollering and making a dreadful commotion in the distance.
  • Lara: It looks like there might be a place to hide if we go a little farther. Can you two make it?
  • Safy: I can push on, though I am wearing down. Thank you for your concern.
  • Tina: What?! We have to run more? I feel as if we're OK now. We've come a long way.
  • Lara: You can't let your guard down. This is bandit territory. They know the area, so they have the advantage.
  • Tina: Argh! They should leave us alone. We're just trying to deliver medicine to a village!
  • Lara: Don't yell like that! Do you want them to find us? Focus on outrunning them for now. Think of nothing else.
  • Safy: She is right, Tina. I hate to...think of what they might...do to us if they were to catch...us...
  • Tina: Hey, Lara, I think Safy has about hit her limit. If we try to keep running, I'm not sure she'll make it.
  • Lara: You may have a point. If we keep trying to drag her along, they're going to catch up. Why don't we hide in those bushes and catch our breath before we move on?
  • Safy: I am sorry, Lara...
  • Lara: Shhh! Did you hear that? Is there something moving in the grass?
  • Tina: Does that mean the bandits are here?
  • Safy: Breathe as quietly as you can and do not move. Tina, you can manage that, right?
  • Tina: Oh yeah, of course, I can— Ahhh!
  • Lara: Huh?!
  • Safy: Tina!
  • Tina: A ca-ca...
  • Lara: Tina, calm down!
  • Tina: Ahhh! It's a caterpillar! Get it away! The awful thing came down right in front of me!
  • Lara: Ugh! Now the bandits know where we are!
  • Tina: I-I'm sorry!
  • Lara: I'll be a decoy. You two run as far as you can.
  • Safy: No! We will not flee and leave you to face them alone!
  • Tina: I'm so sorry! This is all my fault...
  • Lara: There are so many bandits. We can't handle them by ourselves... Huh?
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): Haaa!

Special Conversations - C[]

Lara[]

  • Lara: It’s been some time since I’ve worn this garb... And here I thought my dancing days were behind me. But I need to do my best to shake off the dust. The other dancers in the Order of Heroes are skilled, so I’ll need to practice hard to keep up. If I recall, there’s a spot in this forest that would be perfect for practice... Oh, is someone already here?
  • Inigo: One! Two! Step, then...leap! Yes! A picture-perfect landing! Phew. That’s progress, if I do say so myself!
  • Lara: Amazing! That was beautiful!
  • Inigo: Wh-who’s there? Oh, dear. You, um... Were you watching me just now?
  • Lara: You were dashing! A little rough around the edges, but I could see the passion in your movement.
  • Inigo: T-truly? Thank you...
  • Lara: I’m Lara. I was summoned to Askr from the Thracian peninsula on the continent of Judgral.
  • Inigo: Ah, welcome to the Order of Heroes, fair maiden! My name is Inigo. I hail from the Halidom of Ylisse.
  • Lara: It’s a pleasure to meet you, Inigo. Are you a dancer too?
  • Inigo: Well, no... My primary role is as a sword-arm. But I’ve been practicing dance steps in secret. I love dancing.
  • Lara: What a waste for someone with your skills to dance in secret! You belong in front of a crowd.
  • Inigo: A-absolutely not! I appreciate your kindness, madam, but there is only so much embarrassment I can take...
  • Lara: Oh my... I didn’t expect someone with your level of talent to be so bashful.

Tina[]

  • Henriette: This is the box that is troubling me. What do you think? Can you open it?
  • Patty: It looks like any other box, but it seems like this one might require a little more effort than most.
  • Cath: Don’t worry! Getting into something like this is easy if you have help from someone with the right skills, like us!
  • Sharena: It sounds like we are in good hands!
  • Tina: Queen Henriette, Princess Sharena... What’s all the excitement about?
  • Sharena: Hello Tina! We were about to attempt to solve a little problem.
  • Henriette: Indeed. We would like to open this little box, but we have not been able to locate the key.
  • Tina: Wow! What a pretty box! What do you suppose is in it?
  • Patty: We’re about to find that out. I’ll have it open in no time! Er, what?! I can’t get it open.
  • Cath: My turn next! For stubborn boxes like this, you do a bit of this, and a bit of that, and then... Rah! Ha! Ya! Huh? That really should have worked.
  • Patty: If we can’t open it, then it probably can’t be opened. After all, opening locks is what we do.
  • Sharena: This one must be quite challenging then...
  • Patty: I’m sorry, Queen Henriette. It looks as if we won’t be able to help you.
  • Cath: The lock itself could be broken. To be frank, I’ve got no more ideas.
  • Henriette: Oh... That is unfortunate, but I suppose it cannot be helped. Thank you both for trying. I will think of another way.
  • Tina: Huh... What is that box? I wonder if it holds something precious to Queen Henriette inside.

Safy[]

  • Safy: Lifis! So you have been summoned to Askr as well?
  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): Yes, before you were, actually. Askr wouldn’t leave the power of a grand Hero like myself untapped for long.
  • Safy: I was summoned to Askr recently. Let us work together for the common good here, as well.
  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): Since I have more experience here than you, just let me know if you need anything.
  • Safy: Thank you for your generous offer. It could be my imagination, but you seem to have grown calmer here.
  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): Glad you noticed. I’ve turned over a new leaf. I’m choosing to live a respectable life.
  • Safy: That is wonderful news. The words I spoke to you when we were with the pirates may have reached your heart. But what are these clothes you are wearing? Did you have new garments made for you here?
  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): These? As it turns out, there’s an event called a pirate festival in Askr. I made this fine outfit so I could be part of the entertainment.
  • Safy: To help entertain everyone... I see. So you are making yourself useful to the people of Askr, then. I always believed that you had good in you. It seems I was right.
  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): I was a genuine pirate in Thracia, but that’s a thing of the past now. I’m a Hero in Askr, after all. I need to behave in a manner befitting one.
  • Safy: I am so relieved to hear that. You will surely open up a new future for yourself by atoning for your past sins.
  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): Enough about me. How about you? Are you adjusting to life here, Safy? I am willing to help you with any task or accompany you on any venture! You need only ask.
  • Safy: Is that so? May I take you up on that offer now? I would like to help at the orphanage. Perhaps you could come with me.
  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): An orphanage? So you want me to babysit brats? What a pain in the a— I mean, I would love to. Let me show you the upstanding man I’ve become!
  • Safy: I just know the children will be delighted to have you there. I look forward to seeing how you work with them.

Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn)[]

  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): I seem to have fallen farther behind the thieves than I thought. These tracks are fresh, however... I may still be able to apprehend them before they attack another village.

(screen fades)

  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): Hm? Someone else is engaging with the bandits...
  • Hríd: They number over one hundred... Not great odds for me, though I plan on giving them the fight of their lives.
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): Thunder, I call upon you!
  • Hríd: What powerful magic...
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): I am Reinhardt, mage knight of Friege. I currently operate as a guest general for Askr. Pardon my intrusion.
  • Hríd: No, your timing is incredible. I am grateful for the support. I suspect the thieves are headed to a nearby village. I intend to stop them. Will you aid me?
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): Of course. I shall demonstrate to them the power of my new weapon, Arcane Thunder!

(screen fades)

  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): I did not anticipate that the thieves would throw down their weapons and flee... How disappointing.
  • Hríd: Reinhardt, thank you again for lending me your strength.
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): I cannot accept such praise. A warrior of your caliber would have had no trouble dispatching that riffraff alone. You displayed calculated footwork and exceptional swordsmanship. You must be a renowned Hero.
  • Hríd: Ah, I apologize for not introducing myself earlier. My name is Hríd. I am crown prince of Nifl.

Crossing Paths - C[]

  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): Hmph! Yaaah!
  • Tina: Look! Someone from the Order of Heroes is here to save us!
  • Safy: Thunder magic... If I recall correctly, he must be...
  • Tina: What is it, Safy? Aren’t you happy? We’re saved!
  • Safy: Yes, of course I am happy, however—
  • Lara: Whatever the problem, at least we can finally catch our beath.

(screen fades)

  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): I fought the bandits off. Has anyone been hurt?
  • Safy: We are all unharmed thanks to you. You have our deepest gratitude.
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): That is good to hear. I am Reinhardt, a knight of Friege. I heard rumors that the bandits were growing bolder and decided to patrol the area.
  • Safy: A knight of Friege? That means you really are—
  • Tina: That thunder magic was incredible! And you...single-handedly defeating those scoundrels! So dashing!
  • Safy: Oh my. Come now, Tina. I apologize for her rudeness.
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): No need to apologize.
  • Safy: My name is Safy. I serve the duchess of Tarrah. This is my younger sister, Tina.
  • Lara: And I’m Lara—I’m a dancer. Thank you for coming to our rescue. We were taking medicine to a village that’s been stricken by disease when we ran into those bandits.
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): A noble cause. There may still be more bandits nearby. If it pleases you, I will escort you to this village.
  • Tina: You will? Really?! Hey, we’re going to say yes, right?
  • Lara: Your accompaniment would be very reassuring, but it would be something of a hassle for you, would it not?
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): Of course not. I shall guide you there safely, upon my honor as a knight.
  • Tina: Yay! Now we have nothing to worry about, huh, Safy?
  • Safy: Y-yes...nothing to worry about...

Special Conversations - B[]

Lara[]

  • Inigo: Your garb suggests that you are a dancer as well. Is that right?
  • Lara: Um... Half right, perhaps.
  • Inigo: Half right?
  • Lara: I...quit dancing not too long ago. But I thought the best way for me to help the Order might be to dance again, so I came here to practice.
  • Inigo: Is that so? I must admit I’m curious to see what your style is like. Would it be rude to ask for a demonstration?
  • Lara: Not at all. It seems only fair, since I saw you dance earlier. It’s been some time, though... I hope my skills aren’t too dulled.
  • Inigo: I’m sure you’ll be delightful!
  • Lara: Now then... Would you keep time by clapping for me?

(screen fades)

  • Inigo: Incredible! What a fantastic display of skill!
  • Lara: D-do you really think so? You’re not just trying to spare my feelings?
  • Inigo: Absolutely not! In fact, I’m shocked that someone with your talent would quit dancing. May I ask why?
  • Lara: Oh, that... I was sold to a troupe of traveling entertainers when I was a child. They forced me to dance. I went to sleep hungry every day. It was...the most painful time of my life.
  • Inigo: Gods, how horrible... I’m so sorry I brought it up, and that you had to experience such a thing.
  • Lara: There’s no need to apologize. It’s in the past now. And, you know... Even though the troupe was cruel to me, I couldn’t bring myself to hate dancing.

Tina[]

  • Tina: Hello, Queen Henriette.
  • Henriette: Hello, Tina. Have you adjusted to being in Askr yet?
  • Tina: Yes! Everyone in the Order of Heroes has been very welcoming to both me and my sister!
  • Henriette: That is good to hear. If you have any trouble, do not hesitate to tell me.
  • Tina: Thank you. I was wondering, were you ever able to get into that box from the other day?
  • Henriette: Oh, that. I was not able to open it. I have decided to leave it alone.
  • Tina: It seems to be very secure. Do you think there might be some remarkable treasure within?
  • Henriette: *chuckle* I wonder. To tell you the truth, I have no idea what is inside.
  • Tina: What?! Is this one of those situations where you put something there for safekeeping then forget about it?
  • Henriette: Not this time. The box is not mine. That box... Gustav... It came from my husband’s room.
  • Tina: So it belongs to Prince Alfonse and Princess Sharena’s father?
  • Henriette: That’s right. I planned to leave it alone, but I can’t stop wondering what he might have placed inside. So I spoke with Sharena and tried asking the Order of Heroes’ famous lockpickers for help.
  • Tina: I see. It must be sad not being able to open it when something you connect with fond memories could be inside.
  • Henriette: Ah, Tina, you are a very thoughtful girl, but it is times like these that knowing when to give up is key. Besides, there may be something to be said for enjoying a mystery for what it is and leaving it as such.
  • Tina: I’m not sure... Don’t give up, Queen Henriette. There may yet be another way into that box!

Safy[]

  • Safy: Good morning, everyone. I am Safy, and I will be helping out around here starting today.
  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): Nice to meet you, kids! If you don’t listen to everything Safy says, you’ll be kidnapped by a pirate!
  • Julian: Lifis... Weren’t you an actual pirate? Are you sure you’re capable of caring for children?
  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): You’re one to talk. I hear you used to be a thief. If you can do this, then it should be easy for me.
  • Chad: Working at an orphanage is more than looking after the children. Carry those boxes to the storage area. Food for everyone is in there, so be sure to handle them with care.
  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): What?! All of this? There’s an awful lot of boxes here.
  • Safy: Are you all right, Lifis? Is this going to be too much for you?
  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): Of course not! This is nothing! I will gladly carry every single one of these. For the kids...
  • Julian: Well, if he’s motivated to do it, then we should let him do it. Now then, I’ll leave all this to you.

(screen fades)

  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): Was that the last box? What’s next? Cleaning? Great... Got it. Don’t you worry, everything will be spotless by the time I’m through!

(screen fades)

  • Lifis (Perilous Seas): Huh? You need me to go to the store? You’ve found the right guy for the job. You need everything in this note? All right, I’ll be back shortly!
  • Chad: Hey, Julian... Was Lifis always this hard a worker?
  • Julian: No, I’m as surprised as you. I seem to recall him complaining about taking part in the pirate festival.
  • Safy: Lifis really has had a change of heart. People do change. They are capable of continuing to change, as well. I am quite pleased to see him working so selflessly.
  • Julian: If Safy is happy, then things are good here, don’t you think?
  • Chad: I suppose they are.

Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn)[]

  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): You are royalty... Please forgive me for addressing you so casually earlier. This piques my curiosity, however. May I ask what brings the prince of Nifl to such a remote place as this?
  • Hríd: Our homeland was embroiled in a conflict with the Kingdom of Flame, Múspell, that devastated us. My people scattered during the fight. I am on a journey to find them and rebuild our country.
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): I see... I am only recently summoned to Askr, so I was unaware. Please forgive my ignorance.
  • Hríd: Summoned? You must be a member of the Order of Heroes, then. Askr and its Order of Heroes were instrumental allies in our conflict with Múspell. Though we lost much, the fact that Nifl survived at all is thanks to Prince Alfonse, Princess Sharena... and the summoner. I will never forget my gratitude to them.
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): It sounds like you have overcome a trying struggle. I can scarcely imagine how you must feel.
  • Hríd: My sisters are in the Order of Heroes. I had considered visiting them while I was in the area, but... I ran into those thieves we just dealt with on my way to the castle.
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): Your sisters? Would you be referring to Princess Fjorm and Princess Ylgr?
  • Hríd: Oh, yes. Do you know them?
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): I do. You look much like them, and share similar bearing.
  • Hríd: Your words warm my heart. Are they well?
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): Yes, worry not. They are doing great things in the Order and having a positive influence on Askr. I have had the privilage of fighting side-by-side with Princess Fjorm on several occasions. She is valorous and level-headed, able to fight while supporting her allies in a way befitting her station.
  • Hríd: I am...very proud to hear that.

Crossing Paths - B[]

  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): You must be getting tired. Let us rest here for a time.
  • Tina: Yes, please! Let’s do that! I’m just exhausted after all that running.
  • Safy: Indeed. We can rest for a while, then.
  • Lara: Relax and recover your strength. We don’t know what lies ahead. I’ll keep watch for threats. I was part of a band of thieves once, so I have experience as a lookout.
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): That is not necessary. I shall keep watch. You need rest as well, Lara.
  • Lara: Huh? Are you sure?
  • Reinhardt (Thrud Reborn): Leave it to me. I will stand guard.
  • Tina: And he’s off... Hey! Reinhardt was really impressive, wasn’t he? He’s handsome too, but not as handsome as Prince Leif!
  • Lara: I’ve heard rumors about him, but to see him in action... Wow, he really is amazing.
  • Tina: Oh? Do you know Reinhardt?
  • Lara: Reinhardt of Friege has been lauded as the crusader Thrud reborn, known even among the Magi.
  • Tina: He’s so powerful, and he talks like a knight in a fairy tale! I’m not at all surprised that he would be likened to a legendary crusader!
  • Safy: I suppose not. I agree that he seems to be a man worthy of respect. But...the house of Friege that he serves is a noble house of the Grannvale Empire. That makes him a knight of the empire, which is responsible for unspeakable acts across the land.
  • Lara: You’re right. In normal circumstances he would be an enemy to the Magi, and Prince Leif as well.
  • Tina: But...he seems like such a noble man. Don’t you think he would understand our position? He must see that the child hunts the empire is doing are wrong.
  • Lara: I hear that Reinhardt is the right hand of Princess Ishtar of Friege. I fear convincing him may be difficult...
  • Tina: We won’t know unless we try! Let’s ask him to stop working for the Grannvale Empire when we return to Thracia from Askr!
  • Safy: If only he would listen to us. I cannot put into words how wonderful that would be.
  • Lara: Shhh! Both of you! I hear someone... It’s the bandits again!

Thaw of Knowledge[]

Opening[]

  • Ivy: This land is new to us. Whatever you do, do not let your guard down here. Arrogance could lead to our deaths.
  • Hortensia: Ivy is right. We cannot lose here, for the sake of our homeland, Elusia, as much as anything else!
  • Rosado: We will commemorate our first time in battle here with the cutest victory! I'll do my best as your retainer!
  • Kagetsu: Cautious approaches are best. And yet, knowing there may be powerful foes ahead makes me eager to rush in.
  • Ivy: You must not, Kagetsu. If something were to happen to you, I would not forgive you for going ahead alone.
  • Kagetsu: Of course, Princess Ivy! I would not be so bold without first knowing the enemy's position!
  • Hortensia: Their position? You're right! Without more information, we can't plan our next move. Ivy, let me scout ahead. I'll take Rosado and investigate the enemy.
  • Ivy: Just a moment. I'll allow it, but you must promise to be careful.
  • Hortensia: Of course! Let's go, Rosado!
  • Rosado: I'm right behind you, Hortensia!
  • Ivy: We'll wait here, so that the enemy doesn't spot us. Is something wrong, Kagetsu?
  • Kagetsu: I sense large numbers of enemies to the north-northwest of here.
  • Ivy: Are they formidable?
  • Kagetsu: They may well be. Shall I prepare to fight or do you intend to flee? I would advise against turning your back to flee when an opponent is before you, but...
  • Ivy: *sigh* It seems we have no choice. All right... We will face them. Let's do this, Kagetsu.
  • Kagetsu: As you command! I will strike swiftly and take down their primary force!

Special Conversations - C[]

Kagetsu[]

  • Kagetsu: Ahh! Wonderful sweat. Askr is remarkable. As far as I look, warriors of utmost skill challenge one another to improve. Training alone is fine, but...I too crave formidable opposition.
  • Navarre: ...
  • Kagetsu: That Hero—striking red garb, shining black hair, an aura of exceptional skill... Who is he? I must know. I cannot allow this powerful opponent to pass me by! You there! Show me your skill! Hyah!
  • Navarre: What?
  • Kagetsu: Impressive! You deflected my blade! It seems I was not mistaken.
  • Navarre: Who would dare?
  • Kagetsu: I am Kagetsu of Elusia! And you are?
  • Navarre: I will not share my name with one who swings a sword without warning.
  • Kagetsu: You guard both your identity and yourself. Wise. Let us wager on mock combat. If I am victorious, you will tell me your name in exchange!
  • Navarre: You assume I will accept your challenge. Your technique is good, however. I agree to one match.
  • Kagetsu: Wonderful! You have my gratitude. And since I will win, prepare to relinquish your name! It is time. Come—let us begin!

Hortensia[]

  • Hortensia: Now that I’ve conquered cuteness completely, and I’m here in a new world, let’s change things up. I think it’s high time I took on a protégé. Someone to mentor in the ways of cuteness. Yes—a darling little sister for me to mold in my mature and enlightened image. I love it! Now, to find a suitable candidate...
  • Annette: *humming*
  • Hortensia: Aha! Now who do we have here? Obviously younger than me, from the sweet innocence in her eyes. Naturally adorable, tasteful hairstyle... She’s perfect! Ahem, hello there!
  • Annette: Huh? Me?
  • Hortensia: I am Hortensia, second princess of the kingdom of Elusia in Elyos. What’s your name?
  • Annette: Oh, gosh, a princess! I’m Annette. Annette Fantine Dominic.
  • Hortensia: Annette! What a cute name! Is that a school uniform? I attended an academy back home too. We’re like two peas in a pod, aren’t we? Y’know, Annette, you look like you could use someone to show you the ways of the world.
  • Annette: Um, I do?
  • Hortensia: Yeah, someone to show you around! Finding the best deals at the market, picking the best tea for parties... I could do all that for you. Consider me your honorary sister!
  • Annette: Wow, um, all right. I didn’t think I looked so lost, but I certainly can’t refuse a princess... In that case, I would be honored, Princess Hortensia!
  • Hortensia: Excellent! I have so much to teach you. This’ll be fun!
  • Annette: I should tell you that I’m, um, pretty clumsy. I tend to make a mess of things...
  • Hortensia: Hey, now, you shouldn’t be so hard on yourself! We’ll need to work on your confidence. Just relax.
  • Annette: Oh, I can’t relax. The second I get comfortable, that’s when I spill the pots and shatter the teacups! It’s one thing to embarrass myself, but now I have my royal mentor’s reputation to think about!
  • Hortensia: Sounds like this is putting a lot more pressure on you than I thought... I don’t want my mentorship to be a chore. How about this, Annette? Why don’t we start with just being friends?
  • Annette: That would be wonderful, Princess Hortensia! Why don’t you start by calling me Annie?

Rosado[]

  • Rosado: A bright-blue sky... Warm, peach-tinged clouds... Sun-kissed flowers... That’ll do! This marks the completion of my hundredth landscape drawing! Time to celebrate!
  • Sharena: Wow! How wonderful!
  • Rosado: Huh?! Princess Sharena?!
  • Sharena: Sorry if I startled you. But your drawing is so beautiful, I couldn’t help myself. You’re Rosado, from Elyos, right?
  • Rosado: Yes! You must’ve heard of me and my artwork, which speaks for itself. It’s an honor to meet you.
  • Sharena: I’ve seen you drawing before, and I got curious. Um...Rosado? You said this is your hundredth landscape? How have you found the time to draw that many?
  • Rosado: I’m fast! But with good reason. My hometown had beautiful scenery, but the weather shifted frequently. I had to be quick or my view would change as clouds blew into the valley. Or worse, rain would ruin my strokes!
  • Sharena: Ah... So it was by happenstance you trained yourself to draw so quickly.
  • Rosado: However... I’ve noticed the weather here doesn’t change so suddenly. So I can take my time! Even though I’m new here, I already have my favorite spots to draw. Askr is filled with cute places. I love it!
  • Sharena: Nothing makes me happier than when people praise my homeland. I’d love to see more of your work. Would that be all right?
  • Rosado: Of course! I don’t want to sound rude for asking, but would you mind telling me where your favorite spot is? I want to draw more of Askr’s cute scenery!
  • Sharena: Really? That’s all you need? All right... I’ll take you to the must-see, most breathtaking spot in all of Askr!

Ivy[]

  • Ivy: Divine One, I’m so happy that we are able to be together in this world too.
  • Alear (Female): I am too, Ivy. It does my heart good knowing my companions from Elyos are being summoned here.
  • Ivy: I only regret not being summoned sooner. Perhaps I could have had you to myself for a while...
  • Alear (Female): I didn’t quite catch that. What did you say?
  • Ivy: Nothing important. Don’t worry about it, Divine One.
  • Alear (Female): If you’re sure. Given your recent arrival, I imagine there’s still a lot in Askr that is new to you. If you’re ever uneasy about anything, you can come to me. We shouldn’t act like strangers.
  • Ivy: Thank you. As long as you are here, I doubt there is anything that could make me uneasy. Except... There was one inexplicable thing that happened.
  • Alear (Female): What was it?
  • Ivy: I saw something terrifying in the barracks during the night. It looked like something...sinister.
  • Alear (Female): Sinister?! You don’t think the Corrupted could have come here too, do you?
  • Ivy: No, it wasn’t one of the Corrupted. It was more like a gh-gho...a creepy shadow that moved strangely... But if it came here after a Hero, we would have heard something about it by now. Surely...surely it was nothing.
  • Alear (Female): We should consider the possibility that it actually is some—
  • Ivy: I’m sorry for wasting your time with my silly imaginings. Please excuse me, Divine One.
  • Alear (Female): Wait, Ivy! ...And she’s gone. She didn’t want to waste my time, but she shouldn’t feel unsafe here. As the Divine Dragon, it is my duty... I know! I will go secretly patrol the area after dark, just to be certain!

Thaw of Knowledge - C[]

  • Ivy: Phew. It seems that’s the last of them. Well done, Kagetsu. ...Kagetsu? He’s gone... We must have gotten separated in that last skirmish. I should find him, but I shouldn’t leave this location.
  • Lyn: Would you like me to go search for him?
  • Ivy: You’re...an Emblem! I’m sorry. That’s not right. You are Lyn of Caelin, a Hero from Elibe.
  • Lyn: It is an honor. I am impressed that you know who I am. Alear asked me to come provide backup for you.
  • Ivy: The Divine Dragon sent you...
  • Lyn: I will assist you from here on out, Princess Ivy.
  • Ivy: Well, hold on. You really needn’t address me with the title of princess. Please refer to me simply by my name.
  • Lyn: What? But...
  • Ivy: I understand that you are not the Emblem Lyn, but it still feels strange to be addressed formally by you. You share the same legends as the Emblem entrusted to Elusia, whom my father treated with such respect.
  • Lyn: Was I that important in your world?
  • Ivy: Why, yes! You were our national treasure. We as a people derived comfort from your presence. My father, who was the king, greatly valued you as well. You lent your strength to me and the Divine Dragon, and opened up ways forward for us. Everyone loved you.
  • Lyn: I’m at a loss for words. To be so highly regarded in another world, and to have earned such gratitude... It’s a little embarrassing, though in a good way. Thank you for telling me.
  • Ivy: No, thank you, Lyn.
  • Lyn: Wait! That was the sound of feet moving through the grass. Someone is headed this way.
  • Ivy: Kagetsu? No, it isn’t him. I fear that whoever is approaching may have malicious intent.
  • Lyn: If it is a foe, then let us fight! Ivy, I trust you have my back!
  • Ivy: Yes, leave it to me! I feel the comfort of your nearness. Lyn, I swear I will protect you no matter what danger comes.

Special Conversations - B[]

Kagetsu[]

  • Kagetsu: Yes! Exhilarating! Navarre is truly skilled, and possessed of strong character. Despite my defeat, he was gracious enough to acknowledge my skill and revealed his name all the same. I should expect nothing less of this newly treasured friend! Next time, I will prevail! Hyah! Guh!
  • Lon'qu: Hey!
  • Kagetsu: Ah! Apologies for stumbling into you. I did not see you as I swung my blade.
  • Lon'qu: I see.
  • Kagetsu: You look to be quite strong, friend. Perhaps even as strong as Navarre... My name is Kagetsu. May I ask yours?
  • Lon'qu: Lon’qu.
  • Kagetsu: Splendid name! To meet by bumping is not ideal, but perhaps fate saw fit to throw our bodies together. Will you face me? Come—show me your skill!
  • Lon'qu: No.
  • Kagetsu: Please reconsider!
  • Lon'qu: No.
  • Kagetsu: You are resolute. Changing your mind will not be easy, I see... In that case, I would speak with you! Will you go out with me?
  • Lon'qu: Go out? With you?
  • Kagetsu: Rendezvous. Speak together, eat together, become acquainted. Grow close! It is commonly meant for relations of the romantic sort, but can also be used—
  • Lon'qu: Wait. Romantic relations? Are you... a woman?
  • Kagetsu: What?
  • Lon'qu: It seems I misread you.
  • Kagetsu: No, I am not—
  • Lon'qu: I am sorry. But women make me uneasy. Personal reasons... I will leave you now.
  • Kagetsu: Wait! Lon’qu! It seems I was misunderstood... Perhaps that is why he rejects me with such haste. Oh, Lon'qu... Our bond has hardly had the chance to grow. And so I am alone again...
  • ???: Looking for company, are you?
  • Kagetsu: Who is there?

Hortensia[]

  • Hortensia: Kind of a rocky start with Annie earlier, but we did end you becoming friends, so that’s something! But I do still need to find someone to take under my wing... Wagh!
  • Fae: Oh! I-I didn’t mean to bonk into you! I was just chasing a butterfly is all...
  • Hortensia: My goodness! Look at you! You just might be the most adorable creature I’ve ever laid eyes on! What’s your name?
  • Fae: I’m Fae.
  • Hortensia: Even your name is cute! It’s nice to meet you, Fae. I’m Hortensia.
  • Fae: Hortensia... Your name’s cute too!
  • Hortensia: Her natural cuteness is almost too much, even for me! I think I’ve found the perfect pupil. Besides, look at her pink hair! You can practically see the family resemblance between us. Hey, Fae. What would you say to me teaching you some stuff? We could be like sisters!
  • Fae: Sisters? OK!
  • Hortensia: Splendid! I’m so happy we met. And you’re gonna be so glad to have a big sister like me!
  • Fae: No, I’m the big sister.
  • Hortensia: Appreciate your gusto, kid, but no need to grow up so fast. Take it from me—enjoy childhood.
  • Fae: But I am grown up. I’m hundreds of years old.
  • Hortensia: Uh...come again?
  • Fae: I’m a Divine Dragon, silly! And if I’m older than you, that makes me the big sis and you the little sis!
  • Hortensia: Guess I can’t argue with that logic. I never thought you might be a dragon. Wait, did you say “Divine Dragon”?! Does that mean you’re related to our Divine Dragon from Elyos? Please accept my humblest apologies for speaking to you so rudely, Divine One!
  • Fae: Aw, it’s OK! I’m not mad. I could never think my cute little sis is rude!
  • Hortensia: The kindness, the charm... Never have I faced such a powerful foe. Well, Father, it looks like I have another older sister to look up to...

Rosado[]

  • Sharena: Here it is, Rosado! The must-see, most breathtaking spot in all of Askr!
  • Rosado: Wow... It’s beautiful. Endless fields of flowers surrounding the lake... The light shimmering through the clouds... This place is so cute! And just steps from the castle, like a magical playground right in your backyard. Thank you, Princess Sharena!
  • Sharena: I’m glad you like it too. I used to play here as a child.
  • Rosado: It reminds me of my hometown. In the valley, surrounded by mountains, there was also a lake. Like this one! The landscape was so ethereal, like a dream. We called it the village of the fair folk.
  • Sharena: Fair folk...in a village like a dream... Tell me, what are they like? Are they like fairies? You know, the álfar are like dream fairies! You don’t secretly have wings, do you, Rosado?
  • Rosado: Oh, no. I know I’m cute, but I’m just a normal human.
  • Sharena: Of course you are. But this village sounds amazing!
  • Rosado: Do you like fairies, Princess Sharena?
  • Sharena: Oh, yes! Very much!
  • Rosado: Then I should take you to my village. It’s so beautiful and people spread legends of fairies there. For now, I’m going to draw a picture of this place!
  • Sharena: I look forward to seeing it.

(screen fades)

  • Rosado: Ta-da! It’s finished!
  • Sharena: Wow! You really are amazing! The details are remarkable, as if you cut it out of a book. Is this...me?
  • Rosado: It is. The idea of you playing in the flower fields was so cute, I had to draw it!
  • Sharena: I look so...splendid. I feel like I have a lot to live up to. You’re not only great at landscapes, but people too.
  • Rosado: I don’t mean to brag, but I may have what it takes to be a portrait artist. Plus, since I can draw so fast, my models won’t lose feeling in their limbs from sitting still for so long.
  • Sharena: You do have a point... ... Um... Rosado? I want you to draw me a portrait.
  • Rosado: I’d be happy to, but... Is something wrong? You look so serious. Whose portrait am I drawing?
  • Sharena: About that...

Ivy[]

  • Alear (Female): *sigh* It seems to have gotten quite late. How many hours have passed since I started this patrol? I’ve checked every shadowy hall and dark corner in the barracks Ivy is in and haven’t found anything amiss.
  • Hector (Dressed-Up Duo): Oh, evening, Alear. You look like you’re working hard.
  • Lilina (Dressed-Up Duo): Hello, Alear.
  • Alear (Female): Hector, Lilina. Are you two returning from a battle at this hour?
  • Hector (Dressed-Up Duo): We are. Our foes were strong today, but we were victorious in the end despite the trouble they gave us!
  • Lilina (Dressed-Up Duo): Alear, what are you up to?
  • Alear (Female): The truth is, Ivy thought she might have seen a ghost around here, so I’m patrolling.
  • Hector (Dressed-Up Duo): A ghost?!
  • Alear (Female): It may have been something else that she mistook for a ghost, but just in case...
  • Hector (Dressed-Up Duo): That could be a problem. Let us give you a hand.
  • Alear (Female): That’s not necessary. You two must be exhausted from the battle.
  • Hector (Dressed-Up Duo): We can’t leave an ally alone when there may be enemies about. If any ghost appears, we’ll crush it!
  • Lilina (Dressed-Up Duo): I’ll give that ghost a big surprise. Um... just like this. Roooaaar!!!
  • Alear (Female): Ahh! Hahaha. That was incredibly intimidating, Lilina.
  • Ivy: Aaah!!!
  • Alear (Female): Huh?!
  • Ivy: The Divine Dragon is being attacked by the restless spirits of the dead...a cloaked hunter and a monstrous cat!
  • Alear (Female): Ivy, wait! That’s not what’s happening! They’re not really ghosts. They’re just wearing harvest-festival costumes!
  • Ivy: Hold on, Divine One! I’ll go get help! Everyone! Help! The Divine Dragon is being attacked! Vicious ghosts are after her! Hurry!
  • Hector (Dressed-Up Duo): Well, I guess there’s no trying to stop her now, is there?
  • Alear (Female): You can already see lights appearing in the barracks one after another. We might as well wait until everyone is awake so we only have to explain ourselves once.

Opening[]

  • Arlen: I told you, I don't need anyone's help to deal with pathetic bandits attacking a village, so...
  • Caeda (Marth's Faithful): I'm sure you're quite capable, but we don't know how many of them there are yet. We should work together.
  • Yuliya: That's right! You seem confident in your magic, but I think we should try to avoid being needlessly reckless.
  • Arlen: I will never be bested by such vulgar creatures as bandits! I have far more significant concerns. Like why must I be forced to work with you, Merric?
  • Merric (Wind Pontifex): Arlen, I'm pleased to be reunited with you like this. We can use our abilities to complete this mission together.
  • Arlen: Work together? With you? Don't be foolish! I'll never trust you! The tome of Excalibur was always meant to be passed on to me! Although... Perhaps there is an opportunity here. Shall we see who can defeat the most bandits? If I win, you will return Excalibur to its rightful place with me! Princess Caeda of Talys and Princess Yuliya of Grust, I would like you to be the witnesses for this contest.
  • Yuliya: No. We are not going along with your weird plan for some silly competition when there is a threat to deal with.
  • Caeda (Marth's Faithful): Arlen, setting aside your competition, fighting may not be the only way to bring this conflict to a close. Why don't we try talking to these bandits? We may be able to resolve this without the need for combat.
  • Arlen: They're bandits. We must deal with them decisively or they could do irreparable damage to the village. Pay attention, Merric, and you will see how much greater I am than you!
  • Merric (Wind Pontifex): ...
