Yied Desert TCG

Aed Desert in the TCG.

The Aed Desert (Yied Desert in some fan translations) is a region from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War.

Geography[]

The Aed Desert is part of the main continent of Jugdral. It is found in the eastern half of the continent, west of Isaach, northeast of Grannvale, southeast of Silesse, and northwest of the Munster District. While structures within the desert are understandably sparse, Phinora Castle, the Aed Shrine, and Dahna Castle are home to permanent populations, largely of current and former citizens of Grannvale. Phinora Castle to the north is where Grannvale keeps a foothold in the Aed Desert. In the middle of the desert, the Loptr Church hides in the Aed Shrine in order to avoid persecution. Finally, Dahna Castle can be found in the southwest, and is most well known for being the site of the Miracle of Dahna. Where it is not covered in sand dunes or sandstone cliffs, the Aed Desert is known to have grass, especially by its southeastern coastline. As a whole, it is a scorching hot, inhospitable place that is mostly avoided, except by travelers who must brave the heat to pass through on their journeys.

Story[]

During Chapter 5, Sigurd and his army journey through the northern coast of the Aed Desert on their way toward Grannvale, They must battle Vaha the Mage Fighter at Phinora Castle. Perhaps the most noteworthy event of the First Generation of Genealogy of the Holy War is the Aed Massacre. In year 761 of the Grann Calendar, Travant and a squadron of wyvern riders ambush Quan, Ethlyn, Altena, and the Lanceritter of Leonster, supposedly slaughtering them all. Sigurd hears about the massacre when he reaches Phinora Castle, mourning the death of his sister, niece, and brother-in-law.

In the Second Generation, Seliph and his army take the eastern road through the Aed Desert from Ribaut of Isaach to Dahna, hoping to support Leif's battle in the Munster District. First, Seliph captures the Aed Shrine from the dark bishop Kutuzov and learns about the shine's relation to the Loptrian Empire. Later, after the capture of Melgen Castle, he captures Dahna Castle from Bramsel, the Count of Dahna as appointed by the Grannvale Empire, where he learns about the Miracle of Dahna.
