“What the hell's goin' on out there! Those of you ready for battle, move out! Don't let them near the castle!!”
Gandolf (ガンドルフ Gandorufu, Gandlf in Fire Emblem Museum) is an enemy character from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. He is one of the three sons of the king of Verdane, and the lord of Marpha Castle. Manipulated by Sandima and seemingly devoid of any morals, Gandolf attacks Jungby Castle in Grannvale and captures Lady Adean. His younger brother, Jamke, later frees her, however, with Sigurd's army arriving shortly to defeat him thereafter.

While Gandolf appears as a boss in the Prologue chapter, the player does not fight him until Chapter 1, as he leaves the battlefield on the first turn.
“Why!? First my girl escapes, and now my castle's under attack! Why am I so unlucky!?”
—Gandolf's battle quote
“This... this can't be... Gah...”
—Gandolf's death quote
Gandolf: What? You're that arch knight from before!? Man blew it! I can't believe you're still alive!
Midayle: Prepare yourself, Gandolf! I'll never forgive someone like you!!
Gandolf: Who're you? Ya got a lot of nerve to attack me, ya little brat!
Azel: So you're Gandolf... How dare you kidnap Adean!
Gandalf was a Dwarf in Norse mythology and the name of a legendary king of Vingulmark in south-eastern Norway. The dwarf's name was the basis of Gandalf the Grey from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.
