Great Shield (大盾 Ōdate, also referred to as Pavise and Cancel and translated Big Shield in fan translation) is a skill unique to Generals in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones.
This skill also appears in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance as Cancel (キャンセル Kanseru), where it is exclusive to Hawks, and also in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, where it is renamed Pavise. Most recently, it is featured in Fire Emblem: Awakening, where it retains the name from Radiant Dawn.
