The Guard Naginata (守りの薙刀 Mamori no naginata) is a Naginata that is introduced in Fire Emblem Fates.

The Guard Naginata is the weaker version of the Waterwheel, since both naginatas provide the same defensive bonuses to the user. However, the Guard Naginata does not provide any other buffs to the user, rather, it applies a -10 evasion bonus compared to the Waterwheel's +20 critical evasion bonus.

Despite this, a Guard Naginata is typically the better choice as it is solely used for defensive purposes, and does not halve the user's Strength after attacking.
