The Guardian is an enemy only Terror class that first appeared in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. They are Knights who've honored their mission since ancient times.

History in the Series[]

The Guardian initially appeared as an unused class that is meant to appear in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem. While the Guardian class is unable to wield any weapons due to being an unfinished class, it is very likely that it is intended to arm Lances as its sole weapon of choice as their internal data in the debug mode labels them as using Lances. According to their base stats, Guardians notably excel in Resistance, as opposed to their counterparts' formidable Defense.

The map sprites representing Guardians bear a similar appearance to Knights save for their grey palette, while their battle models are identical to those of the General class.

Like many unused classes in Mystery of the Emblem, the Guardian class's map animations only work correctly on selected maps.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia brings Guardian back into the series. Like before they are grey armored units that wield Lances. They are described as knights that have honored their mission since ancient times. Unlike all other armored units in the game, Guardians have 5 movement instead of 4.

Note[]

  • Due to being built from the Baron class's data in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, the Guardian class can headswap as well as adjust and scale to match a character's personal palette and height if a playable unit is hacked into the class.
