The Hammer is one of the original weapons from the first Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi, although it does not appear again after that until Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. It has the ability to do triple damage to armored units. Like most axe comparisons to their sword and lance counterparts, the Hammer is stronger than the Heavy Spear and the Armorslayer, but has less accuracy, especially in Fire Emblem: Binding Blade, where its hit rate is only 45. It can be very good against knights, since they only wield lances, granting a weapon advantage in addition to the Hammer's effectiveness.
