“Lundgren told me that my daugther had died. My heir... and you, too. He told me you were dead. Thank you... Thank you for living. Aahhh... I am blessed...”
Lord Hausen is the grandfather of Lyn as well as the marquess of Caelin. The main objective of her story becomes apparent after Chapter 1, where Lyn meets up with Sain and Kent, who have been sent to protect her and make sure she reaches Caelin safely. Lyn hears rumors that Lord Hausen is ill and will likely die soon. Her objective then becomes to reach Caelin and see her grandfather, which she never knew existed.
Lord Hausen has a brother named Lundgren who seeks to take the throne of Caelin. To do so, he must kill both Lyn and Hausen. Lundgren poisons Lord Hausen's food in hopes to kill him quickly. However, Lord Hausen clings to life in hopes that he can see Lyn before he dies. At one point late in Lyn's story, Lundgren informs Hausen that his granddaughter is likely dead by now and that there is no possible way whe is still alive and coming to Caelin. Hausen is greatly upset by this. During this converstaion, Lundgren says "Has your life lost all meaning? Then hurry up and die you old dotard!" Lyn finally reaches Caelin and meets her grandfather. Lord Hausen looks in her eyes and see that she is truly Madelyn's daughter. He states that he can die happy now that he has seen his granddaughter insisting that he has taken too much poison, implying that he knew he was being poisoned. Lyn convinces him to live, and the two spend many happy days walking through the gardens of Castle Caelin.
In Eliwood's Story, (which takes place about a year after Lyn's) Hausen only makes one appearance. This is after Chapter 15 where he is shown talking to Nergal's morph, Ephidel. The two are arguing. Ephidel attacks Hausen, but does not kill him. He orders Leila (who was at that time working in the Black Fang to spy on them for Ostia) to finish the job. Lord Hausen recovers despite losing much blood in the attack. If Lyn gets an "A" Rank Support with any compatible character and marries them (with the exception of Lord Eliwood and Lord Hector, and Florina, for obvious reasons), it is said in the description that Lyn goes back to Sacae after her grandfather's death.
