The Heavy Spear is a Lance-type weapon, heavier but weaker than the steel lance; the main purpose of the Heavy Spear, however, is to be used against armored units like the Knight and General, where it can deal much more damage. Generally, it cannot be bought in stores; the exception is in the last chapter of Lyn's Story in Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken. An armory will sell it and other weapons that are strong against armored units, in addition to a steel bow in that chapter. Otherwise, they are obtained through other means like visiting villages, looting chests, etc. Other weapons with the same effect include the Armorslayer and the Hammer. So far it has only appeared in FE7-FE9.
