Iote's Shield
First Seen Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem Item Type Protective Effect Negates weapon effectiveness against the user

The Iote's Shield is a protective item found in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, named after Medon's founder Iote. In Mystery of the Emblem, it negated all weapon effectiveness bonuses against the user, similar to the later Full Guard. In Shadow Dragon, however, it only negated the bonuses given to bow wielders against flyers, making it similar to the Delphi Shield. The Iote's Shield is retrieved after Prince Michalis of Medon is defeated by Marth's army. In Mystery of the Emblem's remake, Fire Emblem: Shin Monshō no Nazo ~Hikari to Kage no Eiyū~, the Shield is found in chapter 13x Within the White Darkness inside the chapter's only chest. Similar to Shadow Dragon, the shield only prevents bonus damage against flying units.

It returns in Fire Emblem: Awakening, where, instead of being effective as long as it is in the unit's inventory, it teaches the skill of the same name. It is acquired through DLC.
