“If the Demon Dragon has really been released, this would be the greatest danger mankind has faced since the Scouring!”
—Yoder in The Binding Blade.

Yoder (ヨーデル Yōderu, Jodel in the Japanese version) is a playable character in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. He is a high-ranking bishop of the St. Elimine Church. Yoder had a romantic relationship with Niime that fell through for unknown reasons, although it is hinted during his B-support conversation with her that it ended because he was unwilling to avenge his murdered sister, which Niime could not understand. Yoder speaks with Roy during several different parts of the story and is available for use late in the game. He brings with him one of two legendary weapons; either Murgleis if the player took the Ilia route or Maltet if the Sacae route was taken instead. He also comes equipped with the Saint's Staff.

Yoder comes late as a replacement unit if you have not properly trained Elen or Saul, but his lower base stats make it difficult to use him the same way as the other two. In addition, his low Speed and Con may jeopardize his attack speed, meaning he will commonly be doubled by opponents. However, his Magic is close to average, so if you are in need of a spare healer, Yoder can get the job done. His Resistance is also capped so he could make a fine magic tank, just make sure he is not in the range of a physical attacker. Utilizing his staff skills allows him to avoid most combat while using offensive magic for defense. Lastly, his Light rank is at A, so it will take him only a few battles in order to utilize Aureola.

Character EndingEdit

  • Yoder - Legendary Bishop

Yoder continued to spread the faith of the Elimine Church. He eventually rose up to the position of Archbishop, but he never let his power blind him from those in need.

Yoder is a likely misrominization of Yoder (also spelled Joder and Ioder), a surname derived from Theodorus.

  • According to a Japanese gaming news website, Yoder landed 60th place out of 80 in the character popularity poll for Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade .
