The Jugdral Series (unofficial term) are the the games of the Fire Emblem series featuring the continent of Jugdral, namely Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War and Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, both for the Super Famicom.

The story of Thracia 776 occurs as an "interquel", or "midquel", taking place within the bounds of Genealogy of the Holy War.

Central Protagonists

In Genealogy of the Holy War, the main characters are Sigurd, and his son, Seliph.

In Thracia 776, the main character is Leif.

Legacy

A large number of fans, particularly among Japanese, consider this series to be the pinnacle of Fire Emblem, as it featured far more complex story lines than previous titles set in Archanea and introduced game play features and enhancements that would go on to become cornerstones of the franchise, such as Skills and a transparent and player-manipulable Support/Affection system, with attendant character depth and development. Nintendo's own "History of Fire Emblem" page on the English website for Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken called Genealogy of the Holy War "the most successful game in the series", presumably meaning it was, at the time, the highest-selling or most profitable of the titles (although some sources have Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem selling more copies by volume).
