Koya Katsuyoshi is one of Fire Emblem's most prominent illustrators. He was the character designer for Mystery of the Emblem and Genealogy of the Holy War, but he is best recognized as the main designer for Fire Emblem Trading Card Game, where many of his illustrations are featured on the Fire Emblem World site. Katsuyoshi also worked as a graphic designer for the Gameboy Advance titles.

In 2008, Katsuyoshi created two pieces of bonus artwork for Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, which featured Barst and Lena.

He also worked with Fire Emblem's Masaya Kuzume on the 2000 PlayStation game Bealphareth as the character designer.
