Lethality (瞬殺 Shunsatsu in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, 滅殺 Messatsu in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Fire Emblem Awakening, also known as Silencer in the English version of Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones) is a special skill native to the Assassin class. It is a special attack which disregards an enemy's defense and remaining health, allowing its user to instantly annihilate the enemy.

In TearRing Saga: Utna Heroes Saga, this skill is known as Blazing Wind (烈風の技 Reppū no waza or Gale in the fan translation).

In Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, Silencer uses half of the user's critical rate as a percentage. This makes it highly recommended to use Myrmidons as the base unit when creating an Assassin unit in The Sacred Stones, as Myrmidons typically possess high skill stats. It cannot activate against the Fire Dragon or Fomortiis, but can activate against other bosses, although the use of the Iron Rune/Hoplon Guard will prevent it from triggering.

In the Japanese version of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Bane is called Shunsatsu, or what is known as Lethality in the earlier games.

In Fire Emblem Awakening, this skill is prioritized first over all other skill-activated skills. This is likely because it is the least likely to occur, and the most devastating if activated.

Trivia

  • In Awakening, activating Lethality will not necessarily mean the user will be guaranteed to hit. Since this skill only modifies the next move to be a one-hit kill, it can be avoided like a normal attack. It can also be blocked by Dual Guard/Guard Stance and can be avoided with Miracle.
    • A Lethality hit can still become a critical hit, despite the fact that the target would be killed anyway.
    • A Lethality hit can also trigger the target's Pavise or Aegis skill to activate, despite it not having any effect since Lethality will always strike the opponent with an equal amount of damage to that of the targets remaining HP.
    • If a target survives a Lethality hit with Miracle and either has Counter or Countermagic (which is only available in Fates), it is possible for the attacker to be killed by the reflected damage.
  • Enemy units will never have Lethality on them, for balancing purposes.
