Xenologue Description

Chrom and his forces now face the combined might of both Akaneia and Jugdral's elite warriors. This map has a total of 50 enemies comprised of Heroes and Villains from the Akaneia and Jugdral series ranging from Level 16 non-promoted, to Level 5 Promoted, as well as 3 special units, at levels 20 (2 of them) and 25.

The battle map is modelled after the Prologue: Birth of the Holy Knight of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. The battle theme is Ally Attack from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. After completion of the mission, Seliph will join as a Level 2 Swordmaster and the player will receive a Paragon Manual.

Unit Information

Only 43 units are on the map when you first start, but as the battle begins, 7 more join the battle, adding to the forces on the lower-right and middle-right.

Once the battle begins, there are 5 Mages, 3 Sages, 2 Dark Knight, 1 Valkyrie, 3 Swordmaster, 1 Cavalier, 1 Knight, 2 Paladin, 3 General, 3 Pegasus Knight, 5 Myrmidon, 4 Sorcerer, 1 Berserker, 2 Wyvern Lord, 2 Troubadour, 1 Trickster, 2 Archer, 1 Mercenary, 1 Warrior, 1 Hero, 2 Dark Mage, 1 Manakete, and to cap it all off, 2 Lodestars. Both are the Hero-King Marth, however, one is King Marth (Level 25), and one is Prince Marth (Level 20). King Marth is the commander, and is on the left side of the screen. Prince Marth is found in the middle of the group on the right.

Unit Equipment

Most of the Melee units are equipped with Steel (lower level units), Silver or Brave weapons (higher level/promoted units), however, certain units have "their" weapons, namely Sigurd (Tyrfing and Sigurd's Lance), Quan/Altena (Gae Bolg), Minerva (Hauteclere), Arvis (Valflame), Leif (Leif's Blade and Levin Sword), Lewyn/Ced (Forseti), Seliph (Tyrfing, Seliph's Blade), Katarina (Katarina's Bolt), Julia (Book of Naga), Hardin (Gradivus), Ares (Mystletainn), and King Marth (Exalted Falchion).

The Dark Mages/Sorcerers are all equipped with Dark tomes, with Julius and Gharnef packing Goetia (A-Rank tome), Etzel running around with Waste (B-Rank tome), and Deirdre and Salem tearing up the battlefield with Nosferatu (D-rank Tome). The other magic users are all carrying tomes ranking from D to A-Rank namely Elthunder, Arcthunder, Bolganone, and Excalibur. The lone Manakete is equipped with a Dragonstone+.

Strategy

Secret Book (Artwork)
Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

On Normal Difficulty, none of the units are carrying extremely dangerous skills. However, a mid-level team is recommended for this, simply due to the sheer number of units you face, being outnumbered a little over 3 to 1.

The enemy is grouped into 3 groups, one on the middle-left corner of the map by a castle, one in the middle-right edge of the map, and one in the lower-right corner by another castle.

Chrom's forces are split in half, with 7 units in the upper-middle part of the map (by a Village), and the other 7 (and Chrom himself) in the lower-middle part of the map, near yet another Village. The upper group is recommended to go against the units on the right-hand side, where the middle group heads left, to prepare for the assault of King Marth's forces.

One of the more hazardous units on the map is Arvis. Located in the group on the middle-right side, this level 5 Sorcerer, who not only has Valflame equipped (giving him +5 to Mag), but also comes with Anathema, Vengeance, and Pavise. Pavise causes physical attacks to only do half-damage to him, and has a 21% activation rate per attack. Combined with Anathema (reduces Dodge and Avoid by 10 for all enemies within 3 spaces of him) to make it easier for him to hit you, and Vengeance (Adds damage = (max HP-current HP)/2) (42% chance), to add additional damage to his Valflame attack. Not really a unit you want to get close to any weaker characters. However, like most magic users, Tomebreaker makes Arvis' life a bit more difficult.

Another unit to watch out for is Tiki. Only level 20, with 39 HP, her 31 Strength, 28 Defense, 25 Resistance, and Dragonstone+ makes her a threat to lower-level characters. She also has Slow Burn to boost her Hit/Avoid as the battle goes on, and Wyrmsbane, doing extra damage to dragon units, so watch out for that if you use Manaketes.

The last unit to worry about is King Marth. A level 25 Lodestar, his stats are not too terribly impressive, with 46 HP, an attack stat of 39, Str of 24, Spd of 27, and Lck of 32. However, he makes up for this shortcoming by having Rightful King, Luna, and Aegis equipped. With Rightful King, Luna and Aegis both have a 38% chance of activating. His Crit stat of 24 gives him an okay chance of making a critical attack, but at low to mid levels, if he procs Luna on a critical hit, you will wind up with one dead unit on your hands. He also carries the Exalted Falchion, which makes him even stronger against Dragon or Wyvern units. However, use of Swordbreaker will render him a lot less dangerous.

Worth mentioning are the two most annoying, but non-dangerous units, and those are Nanna, and Raquesis. Both are Troubadour units, which means they cannot attack. Nanna comes with a Physic and Raquesis comes with Recover.

A well balanced team is recommended for this map, as the number of, and types of enemies mean that any team specially focused on one method may find itself weak to multiple attacks from the units. (ie: Team of all flyers finding themselves on the receiving end of a hit from Excalibur.)
