Mani Katti

The Mani Katti (マーニ・カティ Māni Kati) is a highly versatile katana-like sword that hails from Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. Bound solely to Lyn, the Mani Katti is a powerful sword that closely resembles the Rapier. What sets the two blades apart from each other is the fact that the Mani Katti boosts its wearer's Critical Hit chance by 20%. To further add on to the sword's strengths, it is also effective against both armored and horse-mounted units alike. The Mani Katti is the sister sword of the Sol Katti.

Interestingly, the in-game info states that the Mani Katti (along with the Wolf Beil and Rapier) is "Effective against Infantry", despite the fact that it is, in actuality, effective against all mounted and armoured units.

Background

The Mani Katti is first introduced in Chapter 2 of The Blazing Blade, where it is initially kept in a small church in Sacae by a priest, waiting for its chosen wielder to arrive. A band of Bandits, led by a Mercenary named Glass, later arrives and seizes the church with the intent of stealing the Mani Katti. However, the spirits of the sword prevent Glass from drawing the sword, enraging him into an attempt to destroy the altar. It is at this point that Lyndis, Sain, and Kent arrive on the scene and swiftly dispatch the bandits. After the battle, the priest, grateful for her intervention, allows her to touch the blade. Reacting positively to her touch, the sword clearly marks Lyndis as its chosen owner. At the urging of the priest, she claims the Mani Katti as her personal weapon.
