Master Seal

From Fire Emblem Wiki

(Redirected from Master Seals)

Image:Master_seal.gifMaster Seals are promotion items used throughout the Fire Emblem series. They are used to promote first-tier, non-Lord characters of levels 10 and above in the following Fire Emblem games:

For Radiant Dawn, however, this item exists in a different form as an item that is used to promote non-lord second-tier units of levels 10 and above into third-tier units. It it is renamed a Master Crown.

The items are quite rare. In Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken, the item is called the "Earth Seal", in contrast to the Heaven Seal, which is used to promote Lords. Also in Rekka no Ken, the item won't promote those of the Pirate or Thief classes. The Ocean Seal and Fell contract are needed for these classes, respectively. The Master Seal works on these classes in recent games, however.

These items were particularly more useful in the games which only used the promotional item system. This is due to the fact that in the games where promotion is an automatic occurance (Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn) a promotion item is uneeded to promote. Since early promotion leads to lower maximum stats it isn't very useful in the long term.
