Merach is the boss of Chapter 5 in Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi, Book 1 of Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. Merach was commissioned by Princess Minerva to guard the entrance to the Aurelian Castle. He is an Armor Knight that carries a Silver Lance, which he will drop when defeated. Since Merach has very high Defense stat it is best to attack him with magic using units.

Ironically Merach's boss would later end up joining Marth and Hardin.
