“It all started when you fled from Leonster. My father was a kind man who loved peace. He had no reason to go against the Empire... But...but...! Just because he hid you, we were caught by the Empire and attacked! My father was forced to turn me over as a hostage and lost his right to his throne...he died a miserable death. I will never forgive you, Prince! If only you hadn't come to Alster...this never would have happened...”
—Miranda, in a conversation with Leif

Miranda (ミランダ Miranda) is a playable character from Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. She is the fourteen-year-old princess of Alster who possesses a short temper and strong will. After her kingdom fell to the Grannvale Empire, she was imprisoned and eventually exiled to a remote Lopto church in Melfiye Forest. At first, she despises Leif for coming to Alster because it resulted in the Empire invading her country and killing her father. She is also used as a hostage for force Conomool and his extremely powerful army to serve the Empire.

Miranda is introduced in Chapter 16B when Leif's army seizes the church that she is residing in. During her reunion with Leif, she is not surprised that he does not recognize her and also expresses her hatred of him for his actions that led to Alster's fall. She will appear again at the end of Chapter 18 instead of the village maiden and request for Leif to aid the civilians' rebellion in Alster. He agrees to this and sends half of his weak and tired army led by Dorias to Alster, which results in that army and Dorias being slain in a hopeless battle against the Empire. During Chapter 19, she can recruit Conomool to Leif's cause.

In the epilogue, Miranda approaches Leif and asks him if he wishes to marry her because the court nobles are pressuring her into it. By this time, she also does not hold a grudge against him anymore and knows that he is a good person. However, Leif claims that he does not have time to think about such matters, although he plans to confess to Nanna. Because of this, she decides to return to Alster and wait for him until the Liberation War is over. During her time waiting, she falls in love with a knight (implied to be Conomool) and disappears. It is said that she lived happily as a wife and a mother.

Miranda is of the Est archetype, starting out weak but possessing the potential to become extremely powerful due to her impressive growth rates. Promoting into a Mage Knight, Miranda's low Strength will hamper her usefulness with Sword-based attacks, and she should thus be confined to wielding magic instead. She also lacks the Build to wield all but the lightest of Swords, although the Flame Sword and other magic weapons might be viable alternatives.

Miranda benefits tremendously from the use of any manner of Scrolls, particularly the Dain scroll. This scroll remedies her poor Defense and gives her the opportunity to gain additional Movement through her level ups. If the player wishes to allow her to wield Swords with any degree of competence, the Noba scroll, along with the Neir and Dain scrolls, are nearly obligatory for her.

Miranda - The Stouthearted Princess (わがままな王女 Wagamamana ōjo)

While waiting for Leif in Alster, Miranda fell in love with a certain knight and disappeared. Despite her short temper, it is said that she lived happily as a wife and as a mother.

“If we could only...go that time... Prince...Leif...”
—Miranda's death quote in Thracia 776.
