Monks are 1st tier of class wielders of light magic. They generally use Lightning and Shine, but sometimes use more advanced tomes as well, like Aura.

The Monk class seems to have been replaced by the Light Mage class in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. The only Light Mage in the game is Micaiah. This can not be completely known though as Micaiah is one of the main characters of Radiant Dawn and most main characters boast a unique class.

Monks, like Priests, can promote to Bishops with the ability to use Staves as well as Light Magic, as well to learn the skill Slayer, in The Sacred Stones. In Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, they can promote to Sage, which lets them use Staves, Anima Magic and Light Magic.Their critical hit shows them holding both hands at their heart instead of one.

Trivia Edit

In the GBA games, the monk's generic enemy portrait is shared with that of priests and clerics. The portrait shows a person in white robes carrying a staff, which is contradictory because the monk cannot use staves (it is even specifically pointed in their description)
