“Please reconsider, Your Grace. He cannot be trusted to act in good faith!”
—Phila's warning to Emmeryn in Chapter 4

Phila (フィレイン Philein in the Japanese version) is a non-playable character in Fire Emblem: Awakening.

ProfileEdit

She is a member of Ylisse's Pegasus Knight Squadron and Emmeryn's bodyguard. She trained both Sumia and Cordelia.

When Gangrel tries to instigate a war between Plegia and Ylisse, Phila does her best to protect the borders from the bandits. However when Gangrel held Maribelle hostage, Emmeryn sought to parley with Gangrel, much to her chagrin. After Emmeryn's attempted assassination lead by Validar, Phila recommends that Emmeryn leave the capital for the time being. However they do not get far before Plegia attacks Ylisstol. Emmeryn leaves to the capital to parley with Gangrel once more, however Phila accompanies her. Upon returning to the capital, Emmeryn is captured by Gangrel and Phila is jailed. However, Basilio breaks her out of jail and she participates in Emmeryn's rescue at the Plegia Castle. Phila and her accompanying Pegasus Knights nearly succeed in rescuing Emmeryn, but Aversa summons a Risen Archer squad and kills Phila and her accompanying knights.

Phila is brought up in some of Cordelia and Sumia's Supports. In Cordelia's support with Frederick, Phila intended to name Cordelia as the successor to the leadership of the Pegasus Knight Squadron. Phila was very musically gifted according to Cordelia's support with Stahl. In Sumia's support with Cynthia, Phila was in charge of recruitment and had a special requirement to join the Squad.

QuotesEdit

“Risen... How... Y-your Grace, I... Forgive me... Uhh...”
—Philia's death quote.

EtymologyEdit

Phila's name in both English and Japanese comes from the Greek word meaning "love".

TriviaEdit

  • Phila's manner of death is similar to Mahnya from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War; both are killed by archers called forth by another Pegasus Knight while attempting to protect their queen.
  • Phila's death voice uses the generic Female enemy voice and uses either "Impossible", "This can't…ugh", or "N…no."
  • Phila has 32 HP and is equipped with a Silver Lance, but the rest of her stats are unknown.
