"Player Units" are units that the player controls directly. Player Units are the only units that can be controlled by the human, and move in the Player Phase, which is the first phase of any battle. Player units are usually represented by the colour blue; notable traits of player units include a blue-coloured HP bar, a blue circle surrounding the unit, or a generally blue-colored sprite. Generally, if a player unit is defeated in battle, that unit will be unavailable for the rest of the game, barring certain special circumstances. The death of a main character or an important character as designated in the loss conditions of a map will result in a Game Over, forcing the player to restart the map. Player Units can be given general orders through the commanding unit's Order command in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.
