“Please, could you help Sister Enteh...? Sister Enteh came all the way from the Temple of Mars to care for our sick and wounded. My brother was once bitten by a poisonous snake, and Sister Enteh was the one who saved him. She always extends a helping hand to those in need, whoever they may be... But I never thought she'd trust the words of a bandit... My brother went to rescue her, but I'm so worried. If only I were stronger, I would be able to repay Sister Enteh for all that she's done for us... I beg you, please rescue her from the Taurus bandits.”
—Plum

Plum (プラム Puramu) is a playable character from TearRing Saga: Utna Heroes Saga. She is a fifteen-year-old cleric from the village of Taurus and the adopted sister of Barts. She is the daughter of Lionheart and Lan. She learned how to dance from her mother, but initially refuses to perform around anyone else because she is embarrassed.

ProfileEdit

From her father's side, Plum is the niece of Maria and Roberto, as well as the cousin of KatriVernaMahter, and Frau. She is mentioned to have a strong resemblance to Lan and wants to become beautiful like her when she is older.

She is first seen in a house in Taurus. If Barts visits, she will tell him that she hates him for leaving her behind and watch him as he takes a Poleaxe. If Enteh visits, Plum will persuade her to let her join Runan's army and travel to the Temple of Mars. If anyone other than those two visit the house, Plum will ask the visitor to save Enteh from the Taurus Bandits. If she visits her adoptive grandfather's house, she will learn about her mother's dark past and that she is not Barts's biological sister. Before she leaves, her adoptive grandfather will gift her with Lan's Mirror, which Lionheart once gave to her mother. After they part ways, she begins her search for her true father. If Lee was recruited from Verge before Map 2, she will speak to him at the end of the chapter. In this scene, she asks him about the reasons as to why war happens and he attempts to comfort her. He also gifts her with the ☆Defense Staff, which is mentioned to be very expensive.

At the end of Map 7, Plum tries to stop Barts from eating in his usual impolite manner at the banquet, as she feels that it reflects poorly on her, conflicting with her desire to appear as a lady. If she is sent with Runan after the first route split, she can visit a house in Map 10 in which she will meet an elderly woman working with slave traders. After interrogating her about her past, she accepts an offer of milk from the elder. However, Plum does not realize that it is drugged until it is too late and falls unconscious, leaving her to be kidnapped and sold into slavery as a dancer. In Map 14, she appears once again and speaks out against her owner, who is immediately angered and declares that he has not whipped her enough. During the chapter, she can be rescued by Barts or Holmes if either of them visit the building in which she resides. After she is forced to perform on a stage for the first time, Barts/Holmes notices her situation and rescues her. From this point on, she serves Holmes's army as both a healer and a dancer.

If she visits a certain house in Map 15, she will meet an elderly woman who offers milk to her. Because of her previous experience, Plum immediately becomes upset and refuses to accept the offer, which causes the elder to wonder if she hates milk. After noticing her resemblance to Lan, the elderly woman reveals details about the past of Lan and Lionheart to Plum, giving her more clues about her father's identity. Once the elder asks about Lan's current situation, Plum reveals that she died of an illness five years prior to the game's events. During the second intermission, she is asked by Holmes to dance for his army because he is currently bored. After several of the other characters compliment her performance, Lionheart notices that her style is the same as Lan's and approaches her in the following scene. Eventually, they discover their blood relation and she cries tears of joy.

Plum's ending depends on who rescues her from slavery during Map 14. If Holmes rescues her, she decides to live with Lionheart and Renee. At the same time, she continues to work as a dancer. If Barts rescues her, they both return to Taurus, where Barts confesses to her that he has begun to develop romantic feelings for her and decides to leave to sort out his feelings.

PersonalityEdit

Plum is a kindhearted and polite girl with low self-confidence. She admires Enteh for being everything that she wishes to be. She is terrified of being alone, as seen in her first conversations with Barts. She also dreams of finding her long-lost father, whom she has never seen until they meet during the events of the game.

OverallEdit

Plum joins early in the game and is a good backup healer to Enteh. She generally has very poor stats, although her Luck is close to the best in the game. Because of this, she is not as effective at healing as some other units, but she can obtain the Dance skill, which allows her to refresh one select ally, allowing him/her to move again. She also has exclusive access to the ☆Defense Staff, which she can use to boost the Defense of another ally. However, obtaining it requires the player to recruit Lee instead of a more powerful unit such as Narron.

TriviaEdit

  • During each of her dancer animations triggered by the dance skill, Plum's outfit in her sprite changes color in a set order.
