Princess Minerva is Chapter 10 of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. You will find the first Master Seal in this chapter, as well as finally recruiting Minerva and her sister Maria.

Secret Book (Artwork) The following part of this article contains strategy; therefore, it is subjective, and may not work for everyone.

Recommended Classes: Cavalier, Knight, Archer or Hunter, and Mage, Sage or Bishop.

  • The chapter is not very difficult, except for the reinforcements which appear during Turns 5 and 9. A good strategy is to place a powerful lance-wielder with a Ridersbane up front, and back that person up with a sword-user with a Armorslayer and possibly Caeda with her Wing Spear.
  • Send Marth and a couple other strong characters into the castle to rescue Maria. Minerva will come towards you once Maria is recruited.
  • After you have defeated the reinforcements and recruited Maria and Minerva, head to the western part of the battlefield and defeat any enemies that might be there. Stock up at the armory and then defeat Zharhov, just like you would any other knight or general.


  • Maria - As a cleric, Maria can become a decent replacement for Lena or Wrys, and is a potential wielder of the Aum Staff, as she is a princess.
  • Minerva - The first playable wyvern knight, Minerva's stats are somewhat lacking as she is a pre-promoted unit. Her followers, the Whitewings, will most likely surpass her.


  • You find a Silver Bow, Levin Sword, Physic, and (Shin Ankokuryuu only, in the original Minerva joins with a Hand Lance and a Thunder Sword.) Hauteclere (If you kill or recruit Minerva).
  • You can find a Master Seal in this level by killing the Hero at the north end of the chapter.
  • Zharov drops a Speedwing.
  • TIP: You can bring a thief or Marth with a door key or two. It will make your round in this chapter a lot easier.
  • TIP: The reinforcements of this level can easily kill a low defense unit even if they are high level. Be careful when taking care of them.
  • TIP: Bring a knight into this chapter and it will be helpful. Use the knight to create a choke point in the narrow south entrance of Castle Deil. The reinforcements will 'find it hard' to take down your choke point.
