“It's quite the boon for us, really. Now we have something to kill time with. Gather every free hand and take up positions.”
—Rinecok

Rinecok is a boss character encountered in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. He is a member of the Loptr Church who presides over the Loptr monastery in the Dark Forest of Melfiye and guards the captive Miranda. When Leif and his army march through the forest, he orders his forces to engage them while he attempts to bewitch them with his Berserk. He also is forced to look after Sara, and tries in vain to prevent her from wandering out into the battlefield.

Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

With 10 Defense, 51 HP, and the benefit of a Gate, Rinecok is about as physically durable as magical units come. While this does make him a somewhat interesting boss, his main selling point is his Berserk, which he will fire off repeatedly until it breaks. The gate on which he sits grants him immunity to status conditions, so silencing him is not an option. Thankfully, the Thief Staff still works on him. The player should use the Thief Staff, as well as a Barrier Staff if Tina's Magic is too low, to pilfer the Berserk Staff before it can be put to use. Ironically, he could wind up never being able to use the Berserk Staff he made such a big deal about during the pre-battle scene.

Without his Berserk Staff, Rinecok becomes a fairly average boss unit, but players should still exercise caution, as his Jormungandr is extremely powerful and will poison units on hit. His Speed is extremely poor thanks to Jormungandr, so units with high a Follow-up Critical Multiplier are a good choice to beat him. Oddly, he is more vulnerable to magic than physical weapons, so Mages can work very well against him, assuming they don't care about the -5% to hit and avoid that comes with magic triangle disadvantage in Thracia 776.
