Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

Sedy is one of the only two thieves you get, the other one being Czene. While they share the same broad uses, the two have various quirks that make them noticeably different.

Although his higher initial stats and passive critical bonus make him appear to be the more combat oriented of the two, this is somewhat deceptive. While his growths are superior to Czene's, they are still very poor and the bonus he receives from Critical II is equal to his level, making its boost negligible unless he's fed massive amounts of levels. Any gap in stats closes when Czene promotes and Sedy lacks both Adept and Tico. He also has worse accuracy than her.

Though arguably a worse combatant, Sedy's unique traits can sometimes make him a better choice than Czene on various missions. Steal is vastly superior to Mug, since it is command based rather than activation based. While it can only be used up to three times per map, it is still useful for obtaining additional funds and can even help neutralize certain threats. Most notably, proper usage of the skill turns Rasputin from a massive threat into a complete joke.

Sedy's other support skills are good too. Evasion can help him survive and serve as good bait. He also has Provoke and unlike Elbert or Clifford, Sedy also has the Hide skill, meaning he can be safe from his targets. It also works well with Evasion, as it allows him to bear their assaults should he be caught.

Finally, Sedy also has fairly simple recruitment requirements, only needing to be hired constantly until the required gold is raised. His point to the Happiness point is also very simple, as it simply requires permanently recruiting him and viewing his ending.

While it's debatable which of the two thieves is superior, Sedy is always a very useful utility unit.
