Slater is the Boss of Chapter 3: Late Arrival in Fire Emblem: Fūin no Tsurugi.
Slater is a Bern Knight serving under Wyvern Lord Nacien, who helped to lead the attack on Castle Araphen previous to the events of Chapter 3. When Roy's forces arrived at Castle Araphen to liberate it from the Bern forces, King Zephiel of Bern took leave of the Castle shortly followed by Wyvern Lord Nacien. Slater's listed rank is lieutenant.
Before leaving Nacien threatened Slater, telling him that he would kill him if he failed to defend the Castle from 'a few scattered remnants' of the Lycian army, as Nacien put it. Slater fretted over this quite a lot, exposing an obvious fear of Wyvern lord Nacien, and fearing that he would actually kill him although it seemed as though Nacien was simply joking.
The terrible irony is that Slater met his death at the hands of Roy's forces, yet never showed any fear of them. In his final moments he yelled out for Nacien's forgiveness.
