Support conversations

Support conversations are short conversations between two compatible characters. If the two characters are standing next to each other for an extended amount of time - or in the case of FE9 or FE10, in a certain amount of chapters together - you will have the option of engaging in a support conversation. During these conversations different characters will, of course, have different things to say to different people.

The support conversations aren't just for fun either - when two characters share a support conversation they also gain combat bonuses, based on their affinities, when they are within three spaces of each other. Each character can have up to five support conversations with other characters, but only three with any particular character. A rank support conversations yield high combat bonuses as well as interesting background stories for the characters.

Many characters will have a romantic relationship with the characters that they converse with (i.e. Prince Innes and Princess Eirika from FE8). Romantic conversations are a favorite among fans.
