Troubadours are mounted units who use staves. They are akin to a mounted version of clerics or priests, and as such are treated as cavalry. It is interesting to note that nearly very playable troubadour in the entire Fire Emblem series is of at least minor noble birth. They upgrade to Valkyries, as well as Mage Knights in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones.

In Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu and Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, Troubadours also wield swords and promote into Paladins.

• Ethlin - Siglud's sister and Cuan's wife, the mother of Leaf and Altenna.
• Nanna - The princess of Nodion, daughter of Rackesis, and sister of Delmud.

• Clarine - A young girl who was captured by Marquess Laus. She is the daughter of Pent and Louise, as Klein is their son.

• Priscilla - A troubadour born to the Cornwell clan of Ostia, who was being escorted by Erk.

• L'Arachel - The princess of Rausten and niece of the Divine Emperor, Mansel.
