A Village (村) is a type of Terrain that is commonly featured in the Fire Emblem series. Characters can enter villages to initiate a dialogue scene and sometimes obtain a specific reward, including items or gold. Afterwards the village will close its gates, which prevents Bandits, or similar enemies, from destroying them. In the games where Marth is the primary lord, only Marth himself can visit villages. Occasionally, a new ally will join when the player visits the appropriate village, such as Canas in Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken or Lugh in Fire Emblem: Binding Blade.
Across some games certain places have the effects of villages without actually being villages, such as the ruins on Valor in Rekka no Ken.
